"I selected Home Energy Center based on Angie's List ratings and their coupon for a free diagnostic service call. Steve Cupps was fantastic. He arrived at our home on time and quickly diagnosed two problems. Although he had another service call to make at 5:00 pm, he returned at 7:30 with the required parts (three in all-two from his warehouse and one from an auto parts store) and finished the job. Since the weather was in the 90's every day, we were extremely grateful for his willingness to provide same day, after-hours service. They honored the Angie's List coupon and allowed us to avoid the costly bill of replacing our furnace and AC."

"I have hired Nathan to do many jobs around the house. I have had him install windows, doors, siding, roofing, flooring, trim, and build a bathroom, from scratch. I will hire him for future projects and things that need fixed."

"I hired Unlimited Possibilities to install an exterior door and storm door on the front of my house. They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They did an amazing job and made sure that I was happy every step of the way. I would highly recommend them and will definitely be hiring them for more projects."

"I hired Nathan after getting a few windows installed by a different company. He did the same quality work, same window type, but for a better price. I have 2 neighbors that have hired him since."

FAQs for appliance (major electric appliance) installation and replacement projects in Des Moines, IA

A pro starts by setting the units in place and connecting them to the right plumbing lines, electrical circuits, and, for the dryer, a vent. If the hookups already exist, the job is quick. When they don’t, the installer must add plumbing, outlets, or a vent run, which takes more time and increases the price, especially when the laundry area is located far from existing utilities.

You’ll need the right pros for a tight stacked setup. A natural-gas plumber handles the water lines, drain, and any gas work, while an electrician installs the circuit the dryer needs. If venting or framing changes are required, hire a general contractor to patch the drywall or adjust the framing so that everything meets code and operates safely.

Permanent models need complete plumbing, electrical, and—for dryers—vent hookups. Portable units skip most of that and can run on a standard outlet with a temporary water connection. If your home already has a code-approved hookup, you just connect the new appliances. If not, hire a licensed pro to add the lines and vent so the machines run safely and efficiently.

Relocating a hookup costs between $500 and $5,000, as it may involve installing new outlets, gas lines, vents, and drain pipes. The price increases when the new location is far from existing utilities or requires additional framing and drywall work. Have licensed professionals evaluate your layout, provide a quote for the move, and handle the installation so that every component meets code and works safely.
