"I had the carpets cleaned in a 3 story condo in preparation for showing it for sale.  Expert Carpet Care was excellent from start to finish.  Their office staff is friendly and efficient,  and the estimator was both friendly and knowledgeable.  Although there was only one technician, he expertly handled the hoses and equipment up multiple floors.  He worked hard, was very fast and did a great job.  In addition he was very polite and personable.  <br /> Overall, great company - highly recommend! <br />"

"The salesman met us in our home on a Sunday within a week of our initial call. He was very professional and showed us a range of options at different price points. However, Costco does not sell "cheaper" carpet, so even the least expensive options were rather "high-end." We got a good deal on a very nice Shaw berber carpet with Stainmaster protection and a very soft upgraded pad, which makes it very comfortable to walk on barefoot. We were told it would be installed in less than 1 week, but it was actually about 2 weeks before installation. A couple calls to Costco's central number were required to follow-up on the situation before we received a return call from the installer. On the day of installation, they arrived earlier than the scheduled time and finished ahead of schedule. They do move furniture, but with some major caveats. We had to hire a piano mover to move our grand piano out of the way -- the installers wouldn't touch that. They also will not move any electronics, and they ask that drawers be removed from furniture (or emptied out if the drawers can't be removed). This wound up being very time-consuming for us. But overall we are very satisfied with the results -- a huge upgrade!"

"We recently bought a home and needed carpets to be replaced quickly.  We started at the big box stores and learned they could not install carpet fast enough for us to move in on schedule.  A friend recommended Michael?s Carpets.  We are so glad they did.  Since it had been more than a decade since we had purchased carpet, staff advised us of the new textile options and made <br /> suggestions based on our budget and household (teens, dog, etc.).  They worked us into their schedule to complete a same day measurement.  After selecting our carpet and paying our deposit, Michael?s Carpets removed my old carpet and installed 65 sy of new carpet and pad within one week.  Their pricing was fair and included pad and carpet removal and haul away.  We were very happy with the selection and installation process and have been delighted with the new carpet.  It is a perfect fit for our needs. <br />"

"This was an excellent experience. We went to their warehouse, picked out the carpet and scheduled someone to come out and measure 2 days later. They were running slightly later than anticipated to measure, but called to inform me of the status for arrival. They arrived to install three days later, adjusted the quote downward based on the measurements and were out of the house in under 4 hours. The crew was pleasant, informative, clean and quick."

"Tenant had left our living room carpet badly soiled so we called Quality Carpet Cleaning after researching the Angie's List. We were confused when a van from Sunshine Carpet Cleaning arrived at the appointed time but was assured he was with Quality Carpet Cleaning. We were delightfully surprised when he was finished since the carpet was really clean except for a small yellow stain which he said was permanent with is much better than before. Yes we would hire them again."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Fullerton, CA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
