"Teds Floor and Décor were onsite the day after both catastrophe's happened. Not only were they prompt, but went out of their way to help me. New pad, tack strip and carpet were installed in one day. The most courteous and caring workers. Nothing but 5 star here.*****"

"We are so happy with Floor Mender! We had a 20-year-old carpet throughout the house. While worn in places, it was still very nice. We had purchased a high-quality carpet in the first place and wanted to try to extend its life. Awful ripples had developed all over it. Kevin came first to estimate the need. The next day, his specialists arrived right on time and got to work. These two men were extremely professional and courteous. We enjoyed having them in our home. It was clear that they knew exactly what they were doing. I recommend Floor Mender to anyone who needs carpet stretching. It's an excellent company. They also offer other carpet services, and I'm keeping their number handy for when the carpet is ready for a good cleaning."

"As promised the installers came in on time and worked diligently to remove the ceramic tile which was extensive and very well adhered to the concrete slab, but they got the job done, prepped the floor for the installation of the wood flooring. They discussed with me how I wanted the wood layed and were open to my suggestions. The installers did a great job and easily adapted to a couple of changes I asked for. The job was finished on time and they worked hard to clean up as they went."

"We did have them come for carpet cleaning and we were pretty satisfied with them too. It was one guy and he was very professional what I like is most guys would come and clean your carpet they want to upgrade everything they try to sell you something they would say oh you need this or that you end up paying twice as much because they recommend as these other stuff and he just came and he did exactly what I want him to do he didn't try to sell me anything more than what I wanted, it was nice and clean when he left and I didn't end up paying anymore then what I was promised over the phone."

"We have used Simmons before and they did a beautiful job. So when we decided to replace carpet in our master bedroom thanks to Markus who helped us pick the perfect flooring, we had it installed with them. The crew that installed the flooring was very efficient and did a great job. We love our new floor and it is just beautiful."

"Currently selling my home and was worried the condition of the carpets would require a concession. However, CleanMaster brought my worn carpets back to life. My 15-year old carpet doesn't look "brand new" (they're not magicians... or maybe they are?), but now my carpets no longer stand out as an eyesore. I'm extremely satisfied!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Irving, TX

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
