"Sherry came to my house and brought samples after hours! it was nice to have someone work with my work schedule. Installers were polite, and on time. They cleaned up after they left. We had nothing to do but put our furniture back in our room. Definitely will call on them again."

"The crew did an excellent job. They were very careful of walls, furniture, etc. They cleaned up very well and put everything back in its place. (I removed all lamps, small items, and knick-knacks and emptied out closets along the floor.) They worked all day non-stop to complete. Also Reuben Phagen, the sales person in the Charlotte store, was very personable and worked with me to choose the right carpeting and pad, as well as to schedule on a convenient date. He came to the house with sample boards and got me any samples that I requested. Also they had interest free financing available. This vendor was easy to work with and I would highly recommend. I did some price comparison with other vendors, and they were the best for what I wanted. I love the carpeting color and soft texture. I chose Shaw Dreamweaver with 8 lb. pad with pet protection."

"Dealing with Mike was wonderful. He made a straightforward, no muss no fuss estimate for the work that was needed. We purchased the flooring that was required and worked out a date for install that was way earlier then we had anticipated. He did make a note to mention that his son , Brandon would be the installer on our particular job. Brandon arrive on time and we very pleasant to deal with. He finished in about 5 hours. That time included removal of moulding, kick boards and the big appliances. The final result is stunning and very nice to look at. He did a fantastic job. We have a houseful of other areas in our house with worn carpeting. If and when we decide to deal with the older carpeting issues, Mike will be the first phone call to get an estimate for any of the required work. We are very happy with this company and the service we received."

"<p>This company did a wonderful job finding a nice carpet in our budget, moved all the furniture in record time, even breaking down all the beds and putting them all back together, installed the new carpets and completed the job in one day. It was very impressive and couldn't have gone better. We even saved a little money unexpectedly when the installer recommended we keep our good pads instead of replacing them thus reducing his hourly pay. I will never call anyone else to replace carpets in our home. Thank You team- we love our new carpeting. </p> <br />"

"My experience with Burgess Flooring was great. Communication with Joe/Tina were great. They answered all my questions and did a quality job. I had all the flooring replaced in my home. All the work was completed in less than 3 days. Completely satisfied. We are planing to have two full baths and laundry room flooring changed to tile in the future. Burgess Flooring will do the work. <br />"

"Went to Décor Carpet One.  Got a slightly better price and had a great product (same one selected at Carolina Carpet One) installed professionally.  Guess the other carpet one store had more business than they could handle. <br />"

"Work on the floors commenced on a Tuesday, during which time old carpeting and flooring in the house were removed. The workers took care of removing all the old flooring and carpeting, and moved all the furniture for us. The hardwood floor installation commenced the next day, and lasted for 4 1/2 days. The countertops and sink were replaced while the upstairs floors were being done, and the back splash was last. Sealing of the back splash was completed on 4/24."

"It went really well.  Miguel, family and crew were super.  Their price was great and the quality of the installation was outstanding.  They were super nice and accomodating.  They did a great job cleaning up after the work.  Pattern carpet and the need to match seems can be tricky, but they did a great job.  We purchased high end carpet, so we wanted it to look great.  It does.  Thanks Miguel and crew for the great work. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Kings Mountain, NC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
