"Kevon and Doc solved a complicated chimney/fireplace issues at our home a few years ago. Our chimney had been built incorrectly and we replaced our gas insert. We couldn't have been happier to have their expertise. We have continued to use to maintain the sealed gas insert they replaced. They are knowledgeable, honest and reliable."

"Our relationship with All Star Mechanical began with Chris coming out to diagnose my AC problem. He tested the system and diagnosed it as low on refrigerant likely due to a leak. We asked to get a quote on replacing the AC and the entire HVAC system. The furnace was a 25 year old Trane. The air filter was 1in thick and struggled to blow through a non-MERV filter, and I wanted cleaner air for the health of my family, especially since wildfires aren't going away anytime soon. We also wanted a whole house humidifier to assist the Vornado units we run 24/7 in the winter. Larry presented us with a variety of options for upgrading my HVAC system, not trying to sell me a system too large and expensive for our needs or climate, then explaining how everything works and how it works together to make our home efficient, safe, clean, and comfortable. The installation team was fantastic. They were scheduled for a 2 day installation and over performed installing the entire system in one day. Matthew and the 2 Nicks were great! Within 2 hours of installing the General Aire MAC high efficiency air cleaner we noticed the air felt and smelled cleaner, in spite of the poor air advisory warning for that day. Finally, Chris buttoned the system up completely by running updated thermostat wiring and relocated my thermostat so the new system is compatible with my ADT Z-Wave ADC -T2000 monitored thermostat (my request)! Throughout the entire job, Larry stayed in touch, either by email, phone, or text to make sure everything met or exceeded our expectations. They are definitely All Stars!"

"I hired Ellief Brothers to replace the roofs on my house and barn after storm damage. Unfortunately, I?ve had ongoing issues with the barn roof. Every time it rains or snows, it leaks. Instead of taking responsibility, they attempted to blame me for their improper installation. They were also not upfront about the total cost until after the old roof had already been removed. Additionally, no waivers or disclosures regarding the installation were ever presented or signed. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this company and believe you would be better off hiring a smaller contractor who provides better workmanship at a fraction of the cost. I also have numerous photos available for anyone who would like to review them before hiring this company."

"The old fireplace was rusted and had to be replaced together with the flue and the covers at the top of the chimney. The project was done on time and at the cost within the limits quoted initially. There were no cost surprises at the end of the project. They also work with a credit company that can finance the project for a good deal (no interest for 18 months at that time). The team was professional and they finished the work on time (the actual work took about two days). The cost was maybe a bit more pricey than the average, but the job was well done and without extra costs or surprises at the end."

"Quality of product installed and workmanship I am pleased with. However, post install is why I have deemed necessary to leave this review. The crew left food waste in our yard and gutters. Lawn was not adequately swept for nails and staples. Upon reinstalling my TV antenna, observed pieces of shingle, siding, aluminum flashing, nails and staples in one gutter. This prompted me to inspect all gutters, where I found more of the same. Had two exhaust vents installed for bathroom fans. The crew did not leave necessary couplers to connect provided duct to vents in attic. The project manager provided necessary couplings by personally delivering to my house which I am appreciative of. Discovered packaging material from shingles, along with shingle remnants in my attic. The sales presentation and documentation was why I chose Palmer Construction over lowest bidder, about $5000. The owner and sales person have yet to reply to my emails and/or phone messages. The project manager is the only staff who contacted me and followed up. Not how I would run my business or manage my staff. They also jeopardized an opportunity to earn an additional project. I got a new roof which hopefully will last until I move and they got my money."

"We hired Esser Builders ii (EBII) to do a large project back in the fall of 2019. We needed our driveway replaced, an outbuilding removed, large concrete steps demolished, a new covered deck entrance replaced on the side of our house, and a small multi-level deck & stairs to our backyard installed. Through the entire process, Esser Builders ii, and their owner Albert, have been wonderful. I cannot recommend highly enough this company and I am confident I will contract with them again for future projects. Here are some major facets of process that I think are valuable for prospective customers to know: 1) Bidding Process: With the exception of EBII, the other bids were vague and did not have a lot of detail – especially regarding what was included/excluded. EBII provided a very detailed bid that carefully laid out the work that would be done, the materials that would be used, and everything was included in the estimate. That is, when they price a project (e.g. a door), they don’t come back to you to ask for more $$ if they run into a problem. This happened on our job and it was worth it. Moreover, when the initial visit occurred, the owner Albert came to do the bid himself. He was knowledgeable and had good ideas about how to improve the project given our budget. No pressure or hard sell was applied. Their prices were somewhat higher than the other bids – but I have no regrets! 2) Communication: Whenever I have had questions about the project, such as the expected timeline, materials, or other details, the main office and/or Albert himself contacted me very quickly – often later the same day – even on weekends. I never once had trouble getting information or answers to my questions. This type of communication is comforting when you are spending a lot of money. 3) Flexibility: Part of our project overlapped with the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated business shutdowns. EBII’s workers worked within the law to complete our open project since it was unsafe if incomplete (i.e. dangerous drop-offs). They had the proper legal permissions and acted professionally throughout the period. In addition to the COVID-19 issues, EBII was also comfortable adjusting the project after we decided to do something slightly different regarding deck design as well as add a few odds and ends to the work. It was not a problem – they simply modified the bid slightly and added the modifications to the work. Easy-Peasy. 4) Follow-through: With any large project, often you notice a bit of stuff here or there where you think that a small repair is needed, or a detail was missed. It happens. What impressed me with EBII is that they are committed to making sure that their customers are satisfied. They are happy to send people back to your job and make things right. In other words, after they are paid, they still are happy to return free of charge to make sure the work is completed to the customer’s satisfaction. Laudable behavior. 5) Quality: The crews show up when they say they will and respect your property. I found the crew to be professional, courteous, and devoted to their work. Every day the site was cleaned up until the next day of work. Moreover, the products use in the construction and the quality/sturdiness of what is built is top notch. Our old deck was poorly constructed and falling apart. The new deck uses serious 4”x6” post construction in poured concrete with fine attention to detail (i.e., sanding corners so that everything is smooth, etc.). It is a major bummer to pay thousands of dollars for shoddy work – I have had that happen earlier in my life. It is nice to see the opposite with EBII – especially when you know that they stand behind their work long after the end date of the build. All in all, you can’t go wrong with Esser Builders ii. They are competent, professional, fair, honest, and respectful. This was my first experience with Albert & EBII – and I know that I won’t be the last."
