"Jen and Nick were a fantastic introduction to the Browder company. Jen answered the phone when I called! Unlike the first 6 companies I tried. She was informative, accurate and super nice. Nick arrived on time, spent an hour and a half surveying everything and gave me an estimate right on the spot. I immediately accepted and we were on our way. He color matched a house in my neighborhood that I liked, and it worked out perfectly. Carpenter Dan repaired all the exterior wood on the house prior to painting. He was extremely thorough, prompt and efficient. I can see why he's an asset to the Browder team! Arturo and his crew worked on the outside painting. I haven't seen a more professional team in all my adult life. They show up on time, no music blaring, no smoking, they review what they completed that day, they clean up after themselves everyday, they work consistently throughout the day with no strangers walking in and out, and, the result is a stunning, thorough, professional paint job. Juan E and Eric painted the inside and their work ethic was the same. They worked long days, were very flexible with any add-on's and changes, and gave me daily assessments of their progress. The professionalism, quality of workmanship and how considerate they were of my home are only some of reasons I would highly recommend the Browder company. The experience was a joy from beginning to end."

"Since this remodeling was the first remodeling that we decided to do after a long time since we did our last remodeling that required to hire a contractor to do it. The kitchen that we wanted to remodel, need to includes the cabinets, floors, island, counter tops, hardware, paint and lighting. We also wanted to do as many energy efficient features that will help us reducing the bills during time. Our search was for high quality and low quality and reputable construction companies that can service my area. Landmark construction energy crew was the great find that I was able to talk to and hire. First off their service was top notch. They were very responsive from the first meeting we had, patiently and really wanted to know what I’m trying to do in the kitchen. They were in touch with me during the whole work and made sure to provide me with updates regard anything that was complete and what will be next. What I liked most was that they were extremely detail-oriented. I very much appreciated that, especially given the Major scope of my project and plans. The end results were more than I expected. All the low voltage lightings, the special insulation that they used, the extra protection that they installed in the window that I have in the kitchen and more… All of this features improved the energy protection at the kitchen. They followed up with me the following day after all the final documents were signed off by me about the work in order to make sure that I was happy with the final results. I'm happy to mention that kitchen remodeling project was completed a little bit before the due date."

"My historic electrical use is quite low but I plan to install an air conditioning system and to purchase a hybrid-electric car. I felt that installing a solar voltaic system would be an ideal solution to help offset my projected increase in electric consumption. <br /> I interviewed two solar installation contractors. I selected Allen Associates - Building Performance and Solar Division to design and install my solar system because I was impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the building performance specialists. The listened carefully to my ideas and worked closely with me to develop a design and features that were in line with my projected electrical needs. <br /> Allen offered a number of valuable services beyond solar system design and installation including assessment of the energy efficiency of my home, the structural soundness of my roof for supporting the solar panels, and the condition and integrity of the roof covering. They applied for and obtained the building permit, re-adjusted their design to accommodate fire code changes that occurred immediately prior the permit application process, arranged their construction schedule to meet my needs, were prepared for building inspections, requested and obtained <em>permission to operate </em>from Southern California Edison, filled out and submitted the paperwork for the California solar rebate, set up my solar generating monitoring system, and were willing to answer all my questions and otherwise assist me every step of the way - even after the system was in operation. I also was impressed with the personable natures, creativeness, and workmanship of the sub-contractors Allen Associates used during the installation process. <br /> Allen installed 15 solar panels and micro-inverters and completed all peripheral mechanical and electrical work and other on-site construction in only 3 1/2 days. The equipment I purchased allows me to monitor on my computer, the monthly daily, and hourly production of my solar system. The total cost of my system after the California solar rebate and a 30% federal tax credit will be $12,741. <br /> I am now generating power from the sun and, for the first time in my life, the power company will be crediting rather than debiting my account. <br /> I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Allen Associates for solar panel design and installation."

"After my insurance company remediated the mold damage resulting from widespread flooding by stripping almost everything out from the floor to mid level, I decided to cash in and redo the place. It took from early March to late May to work out the contract during which time Sally Walker, the technical partner, patiently worked with me offering suggestions and pointing out potential problems with the seemingly endless choices I had to make. Their showroom was a useful resource yet Ivone Cortez, the coordinating partner, was happy to incorporate items I chose from the wide selection available on the web. A good illustration of their flexibility was the effort needed to incorporate non-magnetic cupboard door latches. It took more effort on their part to work out how to install these latches as there were subtle and unforeseen glitches but because of their patience, their handyman, Alfredo, with some ingenuity on his part, installed them perfectly. <br /> I'm no interior decorator so I benefited from the suggestions of Ivone and Susie. For example, originally, the walls, doors, and trim of my unit was a shade of white which I wanted to duplicate. Ivone suggested that the doors and trim be pure white so as to stand out. The effect really works. <br /> I asked Ivone to send a copy of the contract and proposal to my lawyer which she was happy to do. My lawyer gave high praise for the completeness of the proposal as well as the professionalism of the contract. <br /> The work began in early June and the contract work was finished by late August when I was able to move back in and have my life return to normal. It was a long time to suffer through but the length of the job was consistent with the estimates from the other contractors for whome I got bids, the insurance company contractor and my lawyer. Moreover, Alfredo often worked on weekends to get the job finished in a timely manor. Things slowed down afterwards when it came to completing some of the change orders as well as making last-minute repairs, but as I had already moved back in to an essentially fully functional home, it just gave me an excuse to delay the final payment—November 07. <br /> You may recall in my last review of Classic Installation that my one complaint was that Alfredo installed a door pull off center and I should've complained about it when I finally noticed it but didn't. I finally mentioned it during this job and Ivone volunteered to replace the door at no charge. Moreover, during this job, Alfredo's measurements were all accurate. I guess a few years on-the-job experience makes all the difference. <br /> Alfredo worked hard to please as best illustrated with the noisy microwave hood. I called Samsung whose rep said the noise must come from something foreign hitting the fan. Alfredo had already determined such was not the case. Still, To be thorough, he uninstalled the microwave hood and together we determined that the vent was obstructing the damper and the air resistance caused the motor to rev, making the noise. So much for Samsung customer help. Alfredo took the vent assembly back to the shop and fixed the problem. <br /> There were a few glitches. Classic Installation installs Waypoint cabinets which are modular rather than custom. I was disappointed that that the cabinets didn't make full use of the kitchen space. I don't know enough about cabinetry to know if this problem is intrinsic to modular cabinetry or whether it's possible to customize the size of the cabinets and drawers while still keeping the doors and drawer faces modular so as to save on cost, but if so, that's what I'd have wanted. The tile are not uniformly level and the grout doesn't completely fill the space up to the level of the tile making the floor a bit h****** a sponge mop since the porcelain tile edges are not rounded. Alfredo claimed that such is the case when installing sharp-edged tile. I've since noticed more carefully other tile work and what I've seen seems to confirm Alfredo's claim. I wished that either Ivone or Susie had educated me about this aspect of tile work. I would've chosen different tile. Finally, I ordered a replacement full-sized rectangular mirror for the vanity to replace a sloppily cut mirror of the same dimension. The new, precisely cut mirror once installed was not parallel to the vanity back splash. The mirror was fine; it was the original vanity that was cockeyed. Had someone accurately measured the vanity so we knew in advance that it was not true, I'd have ordered an elliptical mirror to avoid the problem. As it was, I paid to have the vanity surface redone. <br /> Any job as comprehensive as this one is going to have some problems yet given the scale of this project, I'm pleased with both the planning and execution of the job and most important I'm pleased with the outcome. Next time I need work done, I'll turn first to Classic Installation. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Outstanding professional work........Richard Sarimana was our inspector. He did a very thorough inspection of our residence and furnished a detailed explanation and pricing information of what needed to be done. He ensured that there was a good understanding of the services. We are previous customers of Pacific Coast Termite (PCT) and were very satisfied with their work previously and decided to use them again. PCT called a day before our appointment to remind of our scheduled appointment and Richard called 15 minutes before his arrival at our residence. Richard had excellent customer service skills and exhibited those qualities which you would expect of your employees. The technician who came to our house was Ron. He called prior to arriving and upon arriving, walked me through all of the areas which needed work and thoroughly explained what he was going to do (termite and rodent work), how he was going to do it, why it needed to be done, and inquired if I had any questions. I could not have been more satisfied with his thoroughness. I subsequently referred PCT to other members of my family and fortunately, Ron also serviced their residences. My brother was equally impressed with the extensive work (termite and rodent work) performed by Ron and other PCT employees. With respect to my mother’s residence, when Ron completed his inspection prior to beginning work (rodent work) he told me that there was no work that needed to be done. As a result, the repair work which a previous PCT inspector had furnished did not have to be done and we did not have to spend any funds. Ron’s honesty is certainly atypical and worthy of recognition and a credit to PCT. Request Ron to be assigned as your technician………..you will not have any regrets as you will receive a thorough professional job coupled with an individual who has integrity. As a side note, if you have any questions re bowling, Ron is the go to guy......he gave me some bowling tips which I am anxious to try and hopefully, my scores will benefit."

"Service was outstanding, knowledgeable sales personnel helped me decide on color, panel size for my shutters and style. Instillation was precise and orderly they cleaned up after completion. My shutters have transformed my home creating a model home appearance. The quality of these shutters is far above the competition and tho you may pay a little more I’d say it was well worth it! In addition, these shutters were made in the USA not China. I’d highly recommend Elizabeth Shutters."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Lompoc, CA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
