"I worked all the details with Kevin through phone and email.  Kevin delivered on every detail we had agreed to.  Action Carpet made an initial visit to explain what they were going to do.  They then came in on the scheduled date.  Moved all furniture items, removed the old carpet, installed new carpet, installed door transitions, and moved all furniture items back to where they were.  Highly recommended!!! <br />"

""LG SIGNATURE Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Dishwasher INSTALLATION was done start to finish with perfection!" Mr Fix-it team scheduled the appointment for the next morning on the 1st call, called upon arriving, and went above & beyond all expectations. They offered much better pricing than local competitors. I could have never hired a better company. From the moment Lorenzo and team walked through my door, I was met with courtesy and professionalism. I was able to explain exactly what I wished to be completed and they began working immediately with the upmost precision and care for my kitchen & cabinets. Step by step they installed the drain hose, water line, as well as installed additional electrical box in basement to power the dishwasher. The team made sure that the dishwasher was level, lined up perfectly with cabinets, and was encased with trim as if the appliance came with the home. Thank you for such an amazing job! We have worked with many different contractors over the years and you surpassed them all..."

"It went amazingly well. I have had other jobs done in the past, but Louis is the most professional and honest contractor I have ever dealt with. He was very accommodating and followed through on everything he promised. There were no unpleasant surprises and the quality of the work surpassed my expectations. His crew were very courteous and considerate. They were not leaving unless we were completely satisfied. They also did small things that were not contracted for no charge such as replacing our entryway door set, patching drywall and repairing damaged baseboard. They even fit in a small side job I needed done when I realized installing a heavy glass shower door was beyond my own abilities. I bought the wrong size door, but Josh made some adjustments and made it work. I am very satisfied and would recommend them to anyone looking for a great contractor with an outstanding crew."

"Everything went great, there were a couple changes that had to be made as the job progressed, we found out the old toilet had been leaking pretty badly, and there was a bunch of rotting floor boards.  Other than that they completed the job within our time frame, cleaned the house up at the end of each day very well, and really treated our home like it was theirs.  Everything was sealed up with plastic barriers so we wouldn't get dust throughout the house, I was very pleased about that.  We plan to have them back in the next year or two for the kitchen. <br>"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Longmeadow, MA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
