"We had previously hired someone to waterproof our basement but it severely failed. Once AFS came and accessed the crawl space, they implemented a new system. Our crawl space is amazing now and the team Quadarrius, Jovian, and Dallas were professional, informative, and proficient! Colt my representative walked me through everything before during and after! I love this company and recommend their services to anyonet!"

"Workers arrived on time. French Drains were installed first and then came back to do encapsulation. Showed me all the stuff that was in the crawlspace, bricks, old tools, and parts to stuff that had been replaced. Now have plastic and guaranteed for 10 years."

"They replaced the switch and did a good inspection of the pipe and wiring. It was thoroughly and professionally done. The price was reasonable for service call and part. Despite the many months since they had replaced the switch, they were willing to come out. We made the appointment for Friday. Late Friday, we called. The owner had forgotten. He robustly apologized and said he would come on Saturday morning. He came on time, adjusted the switch, but said no problem despite it having been a few months since the switch had been replaced. He felt that it should have been done at the time of replacement, but it had been overlooked or thought to be adjusted right, but wasn't. Initial visit was about 80.00 if memory serves correctly, but second visit was free even though he came out on a Saturday. We have used this company several times before after switching from another company that didn't please us as well. We are very satisfied with D J Pump because they do good work and are reasonable, and if there is a problem, they take care of it and have the proper attitude. <br />"

"We discovered a plumbing leak and the crawl space was flooded. This had obviously been leaking for an unknown period of time due to the plumbing problem. We never had water in the crawl space before. We noticed suspicious mold substance in the rafters and knew we needed to act quickly. We contacted 58 Foundations to evaluate and quote to correct/repair all issues. They inspected and confirmed they could help and that we did have Mold and developed a price quote for the repairs and perform Mold Remediation Services. We signed the contract to move forward asap. They scheduled the work to begin in the next few days. The original contract we signed, detailed the work that needed to be done for a total contract price of $22,011.00. We were notified the afternoon before the work was to begin that they failed to include $4,694.50 in their price breakdown and sent us a revision of $26,564.57. Mold Remediation: We were told a professional crew was to perform the remediation services with proper equipment and protection. Instead, the crew there doing all the other work did it and used no protective clothing, masks, gloves or equipment. They had rags, chemicals and spray bottles. I asked about the Mold crew that was supposed to do this and he said they were not available so his crew did the work. Numerous areas were left undone and when I pointed those areas out, they went back in to treat the areas. Installed a steel stabilizer to replace a wooden support. After installation, the front door had gaps and was sticking and is still sticking. Many other mistakes were made during the work, that I had to bring to their attention to correct/complete. At no time has management shown interest during and after completion of the job and to this date. Upon completion, the tech asked for the check for balance due. We had written it for the balance due of $22,026.022 and he said it was too much that it was only $17,472.65. It took 4 phone conversations with his office to determine the exact balance of the contract Our original contract was $22,011.00 – their revised contract was $26,564.57. At the time of final payment their total was still off by $100.00."

"In June 2015, I purchased a mid-century ranch with significant moisture issues that had received haphazard, band-aid fixes over the years. None of these remedies was truly successful. My renovation contractor recommended Engineered Solutions. I also solicited proposals from Trotter and AquaGuard. All three recommended essentially the same repair--a French drain and a full-time sump pump. The Engineered Solutions' quote was significantly lower than their competitors. With the recommendation of my contractor, I signed with them. <br /> I know from experience that moisture issues are often notoriously difficult to diagnose and repair, so I did not expect the problems to be resolved in one visit. After the basement work was completed, we then looked at the rear gutter drainage. Three downspouts drained into a below-ground clay pipe along the base of the house. Everyone agreed that after 60 years, the clay pipe would no longer be intact. So, Engineered Solutions proposed draining the downspout water away from the house and designed and installed a system to accomplish that. In addition to the full-time sump pump, Engineered Solutions also recommended a moisture barrier in the crawl space and a full-time dehumidifier.  <br /> Even after heavy and prolonged rain, my basement is now as dry as popcorn. I couldn't be more delighted with the work that Engineered Solutions performed. <br />"

"Richard was very professional and knowledgeable. He made an appointment to access what I wanted done ,and then he gave me reasonable estimate to do the job. Richard assisted me in choosing the parts needed. He was able to perform and finish the job in one day. I will maintain him as my plumber for future jobs."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Macon, GA

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
