"We had our roof done by technicare and the experience was excellent. Aeron helped us work with insurance to help make it affordable. He communicated with us often and answered all our questions during the process. The day of the installation, they finished in 1 day and it looks amazing. They even used the extra shingles to redo our shed for us! 11/10 experience!"

"We employed Dry Step to clean our ducts, carpeting, and dryer vent/duct. All three were wonderful, and the price was lower than I had expected. We found them to be very conscientious, and they even went the “extra mile” - and then some! The owners, Laurie and Jim, were great. A first-class, family-owned company that we will recommend to our friends and family. Thank you, Laurie and Jim! Bob and Christine, Delaware, Ohio"

"We recently had a great experience working with America's Floor Source. They installed new carpeting in our second floor and high-traffic stairs. From start to finish, this was one of the best customer service experiences we've ever had. Our flooring advisor, Joel Wood, deserves immense credit for the success of this project. He took the time to listen as we described our goal for the new carpeting. Joel's expertise was evident as he offered thoughtful recommendations that aligned perfectly with the look and feel we hoped to achieve. The installation crew delivered an absolutely flawless execution. They worked diligently and efficiently while maintaining a clean workspace. Despite the hard work involved disassembling and moving our heavy furniture, they maintained a polite, positive attitude that we appreciated. The care and attention to detail they demonstrated was truly remarkable. Simply put, America's Floor Source exceeded our expectations across the board. From Joel's consultative sales approach to the installers' stellar work, they made us feel like valued customers every step of the way. I cannot recommend America's Floor Source highly enough."

"David and Henry did a fantastic job restoring the beauty of our carpets. Our staircase carpeting is 20 years old, but you'd never know it after Henry finished working on it. Even the edges of the treads, which usually show the most wear, look practically like new. The two men also restored the brilliant colors of our 2 Oriental rugs. Throughout the process they were very polite and professional. We've hired Martin Carpet Cleaning before, and we'll hire them again. Price is right!"

"My wife and I did extensive research into some of the top carpet installation companies in the surrounding Columbus area and ended up choosing America’s Floor Source – Columbus West to install approximately 1300 square feet of carpet throughout the entire second floor of our new home. While not the cheapest quote we received, we felt the positive reviews regarding the quality of their work outweighed the additional cost. We were wrong … While the carpet was of good quality and the installation of the carpet itself was good, the level of care the two-man crew that was sent was about what I would expect if I had hired folks from the Home Depot parking lot. The entire length of wall leading up our staircase was severely damaged, both with extremely dark scuff marks and with gashes into the drywall itself. The damage to our walls continued into a number of the other rooms that were carpeted, albeit not as severe as our stairwell. Given that we had just painted the entire interior of our home 3 weeks prior exponentially magnified the frustration. I fully anticipated a mark here or there along with some additional wear on our floorboards, but the sheer volume of damage is beyond the realm of “mere accident”, it is testament to workers who clearly just don’t care. After expressing my frustration to our sales rep who seemed sympathetic initially, I received a follow up call from him the following business day where he attempted to deflect by stating how paint takes 30 days to cure and he should have informed us of such but would take $150 off our over $6k total hoping that we would not harbor any lasting negative views towards the company. That poor excuse doesn’t explain gashes in the drywall itself nor does it excuse any of the other damage. Unfortunately, my issues go beyond the shoddy care the installation team displayed. Midway through our wait for our carpet to arrive, I received an approximately $750 charge from America’s Floor Source. This was due to them mistakenly billing the wrong card for someone else’s project. The lack of attention to detail is maddening. Lastly, the sales rep failed to keep us informed on the status of the carpet’s arrival and potential installation dates throughout the entire process. I have worked with several vendors for various projects in the new home and each at least sends a periodic email or text providing key updates. Unfortunately with this company, you might as well be your own project manager. Needless to say, I will be looking elsewhere for all future flooring needs and would advise others do the same if they are looking to preserve their home’s interior and avoid a massive headache."

"I had new carpet installed in my bedroom, small hallway and 2 sets of stairs. Bill Harian, my salesperson did an outstanding job of helping me pick out my carpet and measuring my spaces. The installers who were polite and professional did an excellent job with not only installing my carpet, but taking my bed apart, moving all of my furniture, and putting it all back together. The price was great and I love my new carpet! Thanks Bill and the installers!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Marion, OH

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
