"We have used Closets By Design extensively in our former condo and in our current home. Mallory is absolutely wonderful when it comes to the design aspect—she has great, functional ideas and is a pleasure to work with. The most recent installers—Izak, Dakota, Stephan, and Nathan—were terrific. On time, ready to work, knew exactly what they were supposed to do, and installed everything perfectly. Plus they’re all really nice, personable guys! And….when it comes time to sell your home, you’ll be way ahead of your competition if you have custom closets and built-ins. Buyers love them!!"

"I have an old rental house that was in need of some carpets. I called World of Floors, along with a few other carpet businesses in town. John from World Of Floors listened to what we were asking for told us where we could get the best deal on carpet (something I double checked after the fact {he was right, by the way!}) and was able to get us taken care of just a couple of days after the carpet was ready. The rooms look great and the install crew cleaned up nicely when they were done. I definitely will be calling them again when it comes time to redo the carpets in my house or my other rental! They were great to work with and quick to respond. I highly recommend them!"

"Installation went fine. Installers were very good and polite. Also the Saleswoman Tamika was very helpful with explaining the different carpets and flooring for the entryways. It made my decision easier. There was also the need for a small repair to the installation. Tamika made sure it got done promptly. I would recommend Independent Carpet One."

"We were so impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone we encountered with Villa Carpets - at the showroom, at our house giving us estimates and advice, and finally the installers themselves. Everyone went out of their way to get us what we wanted at the best price. The installers provided wonderful service, the carpets look great, and they were accommodating and polite. We would definitely recommend them to anyone."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Romeo, MI

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
