"John was very nice on the phone, the guys that came out were very nice. I know nothing about electrical work so it's hard for me to say about "quality of work".. It was an emergency in our minds and they made it go away so we are happy! And may have them do some more work for us."

"Our electrical panel was over 30 years old, and a power surge ensured that it was done. Luckily, Aaron got on the job, got the necessary permits and linked up with PG&E to get the replacement in quickly. He and Josh worked together to reduce the downtime and my power was back on in less than seven hours. Thanks for a job well done!"

"I recently hired Bybee Electric Services to install wiring for a new hot tub, which required a 220v hookup. My house didn’t have any pre-existing setup for this, so the job had to be done from start to finish. Casey was incredibly professional and thorough throughout the process. He ran the wiring all the way from the main panel, through the attic, and out to the hot tub location, ensuring everything was installed safely and up to code. I appreciated his attention to detail, especially when it came to making sure the wiring was securely and neatly routed through the attic space. The whole process was smooth, and the workmanship was top-notch. I feel confident knowing that the electrical work for my hot tub was done safely and correctly. I highly recommend Bybee for any electrical services!"

"George gave great communication. At the end George and Christian upgraded my panel, installed a sub-panel for my generator, installed an EV charger and prepared my house to change my gas water heater to electric hybrid. His price was fair and he did everything to manage my rebate from SMUD my electric utility company. Highly recommend his work."

"I hired Miller Electric to put in a couple of 220 outlets. From the start, the experience was excellent. His communication was clear and timely when scheduling the appointment, and Sean was professional, friendly, and took the time to explain the job and answer all of our questions. The work was completed efficiently and with great attention to detail. His final price was fair and matched the estimate provided. We are extremely happy with the results and will definitely be using Miller Electric again for I the near future to replace my panel"

"Jason responded quickly to my call. He replaced the electrical panel in my home. Jason was courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. He seriously knows what he is doing. He communicates well and was able to explain to me (a very non technical person) what was happening. I would definitely hire him again."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Roseville, CA

While homeowners with substantial electrical knowledge might technically attempt a subpanel installation, most local building departments require permits and inspections for this type of work. Professional electricians understand local code requirements, can obtain necessary permits, and ensure the installation meets safety standards. Given the significant safety risks associated with incorrect electrical work, most homeowners benefit from hiring a licensed professional.

A standard subpanel installation takes an average of four to eight hours. This timeframe may extend if you're installing multiple subpanels or adding specialized circuits like those for spa equipment. Factors such as difficult access points, complex wiring paths, or permit processing times can also affect the overall project duration.

Adding a subpanel doesn't directly reduce electricity consumption or lower your utility bills. A subpanel simply redistributes power from your main panel to additional circuits. However, organizing your electrical system more efficiently may help prevent overloaded circuits and the associated problems. For actual cost savings, consider energy-efficient appliances and lighting instead.

The appropriate subpanel size depends on your specific electrical requirements. Consider the number and type of devices you'll be powering, potential future needs, and the capacity of your main electrical panel. An electrician can perform a load calculation to determine the most suitable amperage rating for your situation, ensuring you have adequate power without overpaying for unnecessary capacity.

A main electrical panel connects directly to your utility's power supply and contains your home's primary service disconnect. It distributes electricity throughout your entire house. A subpanel, by contrast, receives power from the main panel and redistributes it to a specific area of your home. Think of the main panel as the primary distribution point and the subpanel as a secondary branch that extends your electrical system's reach.

While electrical upgrades aren't as immediately visible as kitchen or bathroom renovations, they can contribute to your home's functionality and safety. Prospective buyers often appreciate updated electrical systems that can accommodate modern power demands. A properly installed subpanel that provides additional capacity for workshops, home offices, or future expansions could be an attractive feature for certain buyers, though the direct impact on home value varies by market.
