"I used Dalton carpet 8 years ago and was satisfied. I needed to replace master, hall and stairs before I listed home to sell. Greg promptly returned my call and scheduled appointment. He showed up, knew the type and color of the carpet I was matching. Measured, and I had the new carpet installed 6 days later. I had a very squeaky floor and stairs.  They took care of that also. Great service. <br />"

"From beginning to end it was a wonderful experience. I arrived at Bell's after being frustrated at a big box store where my questions were only answered with little knowledge. I knew I wanted a specific carpet brand after doing a lot of research for the best stain resistant good quality carpet. But I was schooled by Fred on  pile size, whereas the samples from the big box store made me think they were plusher. He was so knowledgable, helpful, patient ( I was back and forth choosing a color). The installer was great, very professional and did a top notch job."

"They were very thorough they explained options, they were willing to work with me. They knew the carpeting was being done for the house to before putting on the market. So they knew there were could be cost considerations there so they worked with me as in terms with what I was comfortable with."

"Dennis did a fabulous job! I have used four other carpet cleaning services over the past 10 years and no one did as good a job as Premium Steam--and they were less expensive. The carpet has never looked as good--almost like new. Dennis was friendly, professional, careful, and took his time to do the job right. I could not be more pleased."

"All of the rugs turned out well. The two smaller rugs look like new. The round rug looks great but they were not able to completely get out the red wine stain I had showed them. They had told me that it would be difficult to get it out fully and they were correct. I would say that approximately 85% of the wine stain is gone and it isn't very noticeable. They also suggested what I should do immediately after a spill occurs in the future. <br />They estimated that it would be 2 plus weeks before the carpets were done and they called approximately two weeks after the drop off. <br /> <br />I was pleased with the result and would use them again. <br />"

"The day we contacted Janar to get an estimate, Janar happened to be in the area and was at our home in 30 minutes.  He was able to give us a price quote right then and there.  The actual quote was then emailed to me within a few minutes with an additional email detailing the Bona product that his organization uses.    The project was a very large first floor area, which consists of 3 major living areas, a front entrance, a couple of closets, etc.  Janar stated that if we needed help moving large furniture that it would be no extra cost. <br /> As the schedule date came closer, we received an email confirming the start date and time.  This was greatly appreciated since there was a 2 month time difference from when we hired Green Step Flooring and when the job started.   <br /> It's been 20 years since the floors in our home were installed and finished.  The floor in the kitchen was in awful shape. The finish had yellowed and browned over time and the prior owner wore high heels while cooking; the floors had numerous high heel markings all over the kitchen and only the kitchen.  In the other rooms, you could see that the finish was breaking down.   <br /> The staff at Green Step Flooring shows up the first day and helps us prepare the first floor for the work to come.  They assisted us in moving 3 very large pieces of furniture that we could not move ourselves.  Then advised us of additional things we needed to take down or put away.  The staff then covered up our new kitchen cabinets and staircases entrances  with plastic for extra protection.  It took them 3 days and the floors turned out amazing.  The floors look brand new (even the kitchen!).  I can not get over how beautiful they came out.  I used to be embarrassed by the kitchen floor, but the guys at Green Step were able to get out the high heel marking, the gashes near the refrigerator, and gone is the yellow brown finish.  All of the floors are interconnected and the floors are now uniformed and absolutely beautiful.   <br /> Two days after Green Step Flooring finished my floors, they sent two men back (first thing in the morning) to help with moving our furniture back into place.  No extra charge.   <br /> Would I recommend them? ABSOLUTELY!  I found them responsive to my emails almost immediately.  I was very impressed with how they did business!   <br /> <br />"

"I called Ray about 2 weeks before I needed to move into my new home to have the carpets stretched. It was during an extremely busy time but Ray was willing to do whatever he could to fit it into his team's schedule. His team was kind enough to stop by after their already full day of work and complete the project as requested. The carpet looked great and I was beyond thankful for Ray's willingness to help me when he could have easily said no."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Sanford, NC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
