"I had Mike install a couple of new outlets in my bedroom, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. He had to run new wiring and cut into the drywall in a few spots, but he made such clean cuts and patched everything back so neatly that all I had to do afterward was a little spackling and paint. Everything was done efficiently, looked great, and the price was very reasonable. I’d absolutely hire him again!"

"Alex does truly great work. He has done many projects at my house over the years, from simple jobs like replacing a light switch or adding a couple of outlets to a full replacement of knob and tube wiring. Everything he does is perfect -- no shortcuts, everything is to code, with permits and inspections -- nothing but the best possible solution to what's needed. With the safety of my family at stake, I completely trust the work Alex does."

"Both electricians/contractors were very professional and friendly. I showed them the room (aka a nursery with a vaulted ceiling) as well as the ceiling light replacement, and they immediately got to work. They finished in less than 30 minutes instead of the 1 hour I was told over the phone. They were honest and charged for half-hour."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Seattle, WA

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
