"We were greeted and helped by Angela Jordan when we arrived. She helped guide us to different types of carpet we might like based on our preferences. Once the carpet was chosen the process was very fast + simple and the carpet was ordered at a very reasonable price. About a week later we got a call saying the carpet was in so we set an install date for about 3 days down the road. The installers arrived on time and we're very professional and proficient at their jobs. They answered all of my questions and managed to get the job done in about 3 hours. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and I would recommend the company to any of my friends that are in the market for any type of flooring!"

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"We had Weaver install COREtec Flooring in our basement as part if a remodel. The product is excellent so far, and the materials price was good, 780 sq/ft with 3 pc of matching transitions for doorways $3187.00 material and tax. This left labor at $2268 (to 2 guys for what turned out to be at most 10 hours of work for them to put it in) 2.85 sq/ft + $ 50.00 mat/labor includes 25lbs patch and latex additive. At first, I was stunned that I effectively was paying an hourly rate of over $113/hr. I brought this up to Weaver, and they basically said, that is the rate, like it or not. I found out that they are correct. These installers really do get these rates, although I am sure Weaver gets some of it. The floor looks great. If I look at the price as a whole, I think it is worth it. When I break it down, I think I feel like I was taken a bit on the price somewhere. After all, it really did take those guys less than 10 hours to put in the floor, and I really did give them $2268."

"Everything was fine. They gave me a good deal and it worked. I am in the midst of selling my house and they did it in 4-5 days. It was good. I just found them on the internet. The price was good. The service was good. They were in and out. They showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves. They were good. They were on top of it. They showed up within five minutes of the scheduled time. The two guys that showed up to put it in were in and out. I would give them a call if I needed carpeting."

"I sent my initial inquiry e-mail at 6:24AM, and Carlos wrote back at 6:52AM asking if he could come by that morning between 8 and 9AM. After having three other companies quote it, I selected Water Damage DMV based both on the cost of the estimate, his promptness and communication, and the clarity in answering questions I had. When Carlos arrived to do the work, he went right to it. He worked quickly and kept me informed about what he was finding and how it was going. When he was done with that, he put in humidifiers at first. The next day, he came with help to apply the mold-prevention treatment before adding fans to aid in drying. He checked in daily either in person or by text until it was time to remove them, at which point he came and did so. I was very happy to work with Carlos and Water Damage DMV. While I hope to never need their services again, if I happen to be that unlucky, I know who I will be calling."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Tappahannock, VA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
