"We went to another carpet place originally who told us the carpet we wanted would take over 3 weeks to be shipped. Mark from Bay carpet came to our house(wearing a mask of course)and was able to get and install the same carpet in a week. Their price was $100 less than our original quote, They also re-stretched a carpet in another room that was not installed properly. They came on time, were very neat and did a great job. Highly recommend"

"We needed to replace the carpet in our finished basement, which was about 800 sq. ft. We were considering replacing the floors in the main house with tile and natural wood. However, the estimated cost of wood and tile would have been almost double the price that we paid. Instead we chose to just replace the linoleum in the kitchen, and replace the old carpet in the remainder of the house. Since we were under a deadline, we needed the job done right away before the movers arrived with our household furniture. A1 Carpet had a big selection of carpet in stock, and their crew was ready to start the next day. We chose them to do the work in the whole house, and they were finished in 3 days. The jobs was excellent, and the floors look perfect. They even moved all the appliances (stove, refridgerator, washer, dryer) as they did the job. I would highly recommend them to anyone. <br />"

"<p>We found Fred's Carpet through recommendations on Angie's list.  Our experience choosing the carpet in the store was excellent.  The saleswoman was very professional and helpful.  We were able to get an estimate very quickly and had the carpet installed in just a couple of weeks.  </p> <p>The installation was great... very professional staff and no hassles.  We have recommended Fred's to a neighbor that was looking for new carpet and they were pleased as well.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

"I am thrilled with the kindness and professionalism of the entire staff at Class Carpet & Interiors. Robert and Georgia came to measure and advise on the best product to use for the individual windows. I couldn't be happier with the blinds. The turn around time was phenomenal, less than three weeks for custom shades, and the fit is flawless. They look amazing and are very easy to pull up and down and the material is very easy to care for (clean when needed). Kevin is very sweet, made all the arrangements and followed up on the progress. Their installer Shimon is punctual, works quickly and flawlessly. This was an all-around wonderful experience and I highly recommend Class Carpet & Interiors for any window treatment project."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in West Babylon, NY

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
