"We needed a safer entrance for everyday use and accessibility, so Eran suggested building steps alongside a ramp. His crew built the structures at the same time, using rebar and proper slope calculations. The ramp has a gentle incline that meets code, and the broom finish provides good traction. The steps are wider than before, with a landing that improves access. City inspectors visited to check compliance, and the project passed. The combination design works well for our family and makes the entry more functional. It?s practical, durable, and complements the rest of the exterior improvements nicely."

"A highly anxiety-ridden dog of a friend was in my house, alone for about 15 minutes.  She tried to get out by scratching and biting her way through the front door and front window.  I had to decide whether to fix the damage or buy a new door.
I bought an Angie's special,  $69 for two hours of carpentry work by General Custom Woodworking .  I've discovered that when I use one of the specials, the craftsmen are often bombarded with calls which delays getting an appointment.  Such was the case here, but we finally set a date to meet.
Mr. Goldin came, looked at the job to be done, and gave me an estimate of $210. I had a choice of letting him take the door and rebuild the damaged door and window carving/finish which would cost a lot more.  The other option was sanding and refinishing the ruined areas.  After listening to his explanation of the work and the additional cost above the special, $141.00, I decided to go the less expensive way.  Albert took a sample of the frame of the door and said he'd buy a match and stain it.  He returned in two weeks to make the repairs.
I'm glad Albert offered a less expensive route, because unless you knew the damage was there before, you would not know that the repairs were made.  Even knowing what the door looked like originally, it was hard to tell work was done.  He even put a coat of finish on the exterior of the door which had scratches from 20+ years of use.  It now looks like a new door and the window sill/frame was also repaired in a very satisfactory way.
I believe Albert Goldin is an honest man owning a company that does work with skill.  I disliked looking at the door and window the way they were and wonder why I waited so long to remedy the situation.  I would use Albert Goldin and GC Woodworking again and recommend them without reservations."
