My service call involved a charge as it was Service, labor plus Freon to be added to my unit and the outside unit's battery. Since I have a contract with McCrea, I was not charged for the part that was to be replaced on my unit. My house is slowly cooling down as it was 90 degrees inside my home when she arrived this morning. My house lost the air conditioning on the Fourth of July and on a very hot day. After contacting Slade through Angie’s List, he called to set up an appointment and was able to come the same day of contact. I was very happy about that because it was very hot, as usual, when your air goes out. Slade was very punctual even though he had to travel during rush hour to make the appointment and was very professional and courteous. He tried various technical methods to isolate the problem and was determined to find the source as he explained every step of the way of what he was doing to my husband. In the process of locating the cause of the stoppage, he dismantled the heat pump, located and repaired the problem, and made preventive recommendations for future use. I also asked about the condition of my heat pump since it’s at least 20 years old and although he said it was still doing good, he said there were newer models that would perform better than the unit we currently have. I do intend to use Slade again before the end of the year to replace my current heat pump."
