"Our 4-year-old microwave stopped working (no display, nothing). After doing some research online I unplugged it and plugged it back in. It started humming very loudly and displayed a PF (power failure) error, indicating a blown fuse or a control board failure. Wintley Baptiste from The Equipment Doctors stopped by two days after I made contact through Angi. He diagnosed the problem as a failed control board and said he would have to order the part and come back in 7-10 days to install it. He gave me an estimated price for the part and labor to install it and asked if I wanted to proceed. I said yes (if I had said no, I would owe $150 for the visit and diagnosis). Wintley called a week later, saying he had the part and could stop by that same day to install it. He did so and the microwave is working fine. The price to repair the microwave was $330. By comparison, a new microwave would have cost at least $500."

"Addi contacted me and came to my house for an appliance in the same day, so I agreed to pay a slight premium at a time when others could not return calls. More importantly, he was able to install the appliance and remove/haul away the old one, no problem. He even made a small modification to reinforce the cabinet, which was above and beyond. Nice person as well, I was happy I hired him. I have more work to be done so I know who I am calling."
