"I highly recommend Huneke Engineering. They are very honest and know what they are doing. They saved me a lot of money when a foundation company tried to bid me something that didn’t even need to be done. ALWAYS get a second opinion! I started noticing cracks around my windows in my living room. The windowsill was visibly not level and when I put a level on it, the bubble was very far to the left. I have a bowed foundation wall directly below my living room which has been stabilized by wall anchors before I moved into my house 9 years ago. Long story short. I needed to replace my foundation sill on the bowed wall. You can feel the sill from the outside and it’s hanging off the wall, so all the floor joists were not sitting at the same level. The first structural engineer that I hired before Huneke didn’t even notice this. The company that installed the wall anchors said that my right side of my house was sinking and they gave me a bid for $7,000 to install 5 foundation piers. I asked them if we should use a laser level to be sure and the guy said he used one on the outside of the house. I was with the guy most of the time and was only away from him for a few minutes. There is no way he used a laser level. You are supposed to use the laser level on the inside of the house anyways in the basement for a better measurement. They also said they felt a slope walking into the master bedroom. Liars! I called around trying to find a structural engineer who would be willing to use a laser level in my basement to confirm if the right side of my house is sinking or not and most of the companies I called said they did not do laser levels. The engineers at Huneke Engineering said they could use a laser level so I hired them. They used the laser level in my basement and showed me that the right side of the house is NOT sinking. It’s in code. They noticed my floor joists were uneven. Some of them only measured 3/4 of an inch between the foundation wall and the floor joist, when they should all be at an inch in a half. They also pointed out that my original sill was hanging off the foundation wall on the outside. You can’t see it because of the siding, but you can feel it and see it with a camera. They recommended I jack up my house and place a new pressure treated 2x4 on top of the foundation wall as the sill replacement. They said it was ok to leave the old one on there. They took plenty of time to explain everything to me as I had a lot of questions, so I really appreciated that. I first got a bid from a company to replace the sill but they wanted to charge me $4,000 and I couldn’t afford it at that time. They did use a laser level in my basement and said the right side of my house is NOT sinking. That is two separate companies who confirmed the right side of my house is NOT sinking, so ALWAYS get a second opinion! I installed the new foundation sill with my brother-in-law and his cousin. It required 3 bottle jacks but we got it done and all of the floor joists sit at the same level. The window in the living room is a little more level. "I highly recommend Dana King Next Project Studio for your home renovation needs. We were planning a rather large renovation including a complete gut of our kitchen and guest bath, as well as refreshing the family room and main hallway. It was important that we had a designer/contractor who would oversee the entire project. We had used Dana King in 2015 to refresh our foyer, living room and dining room and we were impressed with how smoothly the project went, so we hired them again in late 2022. We met with Dana to go over the scope of the project. Dana then gave us estimated costs and timelines. Dana’s group handled every step of the project. The project was overseen by our project manager, Drew Chapman. They made sure all the proper permits were in place before the project began. Our designer, Meg Blais, was in contact with us nearly every day for design selections. The carpenters, Nick Duncan and Greg Piper, made sure the project stayed on schedule, overseeing plumbers, flooring installers, electricians, insulators, fireplace installers, and painters. Meg made sure our appliances, flooring, cabinets, fixtures, paint, and backsplashes were all ordered on time to keep the project on track. Our biggest design issues were with the kitchen location. From the front door, you had to either walk down the hall through the family room into the kitchen, or else go through the dining room. I am not a fan of open concept, so I needed ideas on how to make the kitchen more accessible without tearing down walls. I was also concerned that the main narrow hallway was so dark. Meg came up with the great idea of adding a doorway from the kitchen to the hallway. This provided immediate access to the kitchen from the main hallway, as well as providing extra light to the hallway. She also increased the opening from the dining room to the kitchen and moved the refrigerator to a more accessible location. Even though the doorway in the kitchen meant losing cabinet space, Meg’s design gave us more storage than we had in the old kitchen. The entire process took three months, but the project manager and carpenters kept us informed every single day what had been completed and what was happening the next day, so we were never left wondering what was next with our project. Because Dana King Next Project Studio handles every aspect of a remodel, you don’t have to worry about permits, inspections, which trades people will be showing up each day. Everything was so smooth, and the people assigned to our project were the nicest, kindest, and most professional I’ve ever worked with. I had no problem with having them in our home every day. Our dog loved everyone; it was tough to keep him out from underfoot. Just the best company I’ve ever worked with, and we will definitely use them again when it's time to update our master bed and bath."

"From the start, Tom was very responsive and communicated very well.  He had great ideas for our yard but also listened to our ideas as well.  After coming up with a plan and a price estimate, we signed the contract and started finalizing the details. Tom really went the extra mile to make sure that the products we were choosing were what we wanted and even came back to the house multiple times to review details before ordering the stone.  One of the best things that Tom did was to show us how some different options would change the costs, because it let us choose which "extras" we wanted to pay extra for.  
Once the materials arrived (the stone had to be custom ordered), the work was scheduled and started on time.  Tom and his crew were prompt and worked hard to get the job done once it was started.  There were a couple of very minor weather delays, but those were completely understandable given the rains we have had this spring, and Tom stayed in close communication the entire time.
We will certainly use Signature Landscape Design again if we add more landscaping/hardscaping to the back yard in the future, and I will be recommending them to our friends and family as well."

"The surveyor that came out, worked here for three days to get everything located . Apparently verifiable points to get started with weâ re almost nonexistent. I was starting to get concerned that I would end up being charged a whole lot more than the original price, but the surveyor told me that sometimes it does takes several days to get everything located, and that his bosses understand that had a very good experience with them and definitely recommend them. ."

"To be truthful i was very skeptical hiring anyone to put on a new deck because of all the horror stories you hear of contractors taking your deposit and never returning to finish the job. BUTâ ¦ meeting with Jacob Quick made it all very easy. I met with Jacob many times because of my apprehension and having issues with making decisions. After signing a contract, Jacob kept in contact with me on starting date, permit issues, when materials would be delivered, and if there was inclement weather conditions that they could not work that day. From the start of teardown to the finished project, they were there every day at 7:30, making sure that time was ok with me. They had a crew of 4-5 people working all day. When an issue came up, they were up front and we discussed it. I felt very relieved that all the guys were very knowledgeable and experienced. I am picky when it comes to details and the entire crew were all very concerned about the littlest details. Brian was also great at answering my questions as the deck was being built. They wanted me to be highly satisfied and i surely was.
