"I purchased my home in 2002. For the last 6 or 7 years I've noticed the signs of foundation settling. At first I ignored it believing that all houses settle some, but after noticing hairline cracks in the foundation walls, cracks in the dry wall around some doors and windows, I just couldn't ignore it any longer. After interviewing several companies, I believed NV Waterproofing had the plan that suited my problem most favorably. In late May 2018, I contacted the company. A representative came to my home and conducted an inspection inside and out to determine the cause and offered several options to resolve the problem and the cost for each. I choose to stabilize my foundation using push piers. I accepted the contract and contacted the company scheduler and got on the calendar for a start date. My project was tentatively scheduled for four days. Due to the need to dig down to the foundation footer, I asked that the project be started and completed in four consecutive days. The scheduler was flexible, easy to work with and kept me informed of potential start dates, After several false starts due to weather, the project was started on Sept 4. The team that started and completed the project was punctual, polite and knowledgeable. The field supervisor and the team leader kept me informed of what would be done and what had been done at the end of each day. They were all hard and efficient workers and completed the project one day early. The work area was cleared, seeded, straw put down and left in good order. Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend."

"I was extremely satisfied with the professional conduct of this job. I had carefully designed the structure of the shed. It was important that all the dimensions of the slab be met accurately and that the 6 posts be placed precisely and perfectly vertical. They were. Working with Jaime was very satisfying as we had numerous discussions about details as the job progressed. I provided some large salvage planks from the old shed that could be used to build forms, and he provided several significant suggestions to improve the end result. The slab was on a slight slope. He provided much deeper concrete on the downhill side to anchor the slab and resist underwash. He provided a large footer under each post before the main concrete pour, because the posts were going to carry the entire weight of the roof. I would not have thought to do that. This is the value of hiring an experienced contractor. The shed has been completed and the first delivery of sawdust has been made. The slabs stood up to the significant weight of the delivery truck as can be seen in my pictures."

"Thank you Lily & Team: I contracted with MA Cleaning and Landscape to provide a hardscape solution under my new deck, including a concrete pad and decorative pebbles. They consulted with me on construction day, and completed the $2900 job nicely in 2 days. Being pleased with their work, I asked for help designing a landscape project along a 50 foot stone wall. That $2200 job was also done very well in one day. When issues arose, Lily handled them like a boss. I really appreciated her calling me directly to offer a solution. Lily was very kind and highly professional, which makes a huge difference with me. I am posting this review because I want people to know they can trust lily and her team to do the right thing. I can also highly recommend them for both hardscape and landscape design. I had a 12 year relationship with a prior landscape designer until she retired, and hope to continue using this company for garden enhancement for many years to come. Regan in Clarksburg, MD"

"Very thorough preparation--removal of prior driveway, substantial excavation to permit required base of crushed stone and sand, concrete footings around perimeter of driveway to stabilize edges of paver driveway. Very nice work setting pavers, setting trim pavers on edges, trimming pavers to fit where driveway wasn't square, and applying polymeric sand to seal joints."

"Very professional! The two people that did the concrete raising were very helpful. Big shout out to Brian and Austin out of the Bristow location. Pricy, but foundation work is sometimes unavoidable."

"We were very happy with the end result. One price factor that seemed high to us was the cost to paint the top of the pole a bright yellow (to caution drivers turning into the alley) - it was approx. $150. We went with it at the time, but in hindsight that was too much - we could very easily have just painted it ourselves at a SIGNIFICANTLY lower price point, and that's a job we could have easily handled ourselves. We also were concerned when they first arrived to do the repairs - the worker essentially said "tell me what we're doing" (and I was happy to walk him through it - but it seemed like there had been no communication about what the job was). The worker also was pointing to locations to install the pole that made no sense (e.g., not even close to the corner point that had been crashed), so we put in a call to the main office immediately to make sure they had communicated the job. Happily I was home (even though I had been told I didn't need to be). Everything worked out in the end, but it did give me pause. Otherwise, they were prompt in returning our calls, scheduling the repairs, etc., we were comfortable with the overall price and the quality of the job. We would use them again for future fence and similar work.

"Once again, Brothers Pavers did a wonderful job with my project. We began planning this after they fixed my damaged concrete steps back in January. They were proactive in reaching out to let me know when the weather would permit them to coat the steps and paint. They also researched and found a suitable coating for the job, and kept me involved in all steps of the process. This is a great company to work with, communicative and take pride in their work. Brothers Pavers is my go-to for contracting."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
