"We had used Hoffman Landscaping for a front yard project in the fall of 2013, and at that time we asked for a quote for deck removal and patio installation in the back of the house. We decided to be patient and wait until spring to tackle that work, but dealt with water issues all winter long in our basement and yard. My patience wore thin.
At the first sign of spring, I had Brian come out to look at our grading and drainage situation. He gave me a revised quote for the original work and the new work, and we were off. Well, almost...we had warm days followed by surprise snow followed by rain. (Three cheers for Maryland weather!) Brian kept in contact with me regarding scheduling and we crossed our fingers for warm and dry days.
The deck and concrete were torn out quickly, but we lost a few days to rain. There was a small misunderstanding about materials and tools being left at our house, but it was not a big deal and Brian was very apologetic. Once the patio work began, we saw progress happen quickly. Brian and his crew worked very hard to get everything finished before more rain came through, and they cleaned up very well when they were done.
They did have to come back one time to fix a couple of loose stairs, but now that we've had a chance to use the patio we're just so happy with the work that was done. The patio is beautiful, and the grading and drainage were done well. Now we wait for the grass seed to grow so we can take some "after" pictures!
We love working with Hoffman Landscaping and look forward to having them back for more!"

"Outdoor advantage did a superb job. They removed a large (20x12) fish pond that had been in place for over 30 years. They had to haul away about 6 tons of field stone then create a flat and level surface for the pool. They then seeded and put straw down on the bare area. They showed up on time and finished at the end of the day. Outdoor advantage is my go to company for any landscaping project. I've used them many times and wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future."

"We had a very difficult jobsite. LOT of rock. On a slope. It took a while for them to get here (good companies are always busy!). Worth the wait. Crew arrived on time, worked clean, finished up on schedule and as expected. Quality was fantastic (higher grade boards, better concrete, set posts then come back the next day to do the main part b/c the posts need to set up). The owner visited the job site on the day they started and the day they finished. Really impressive commitment to the process. Every piece of this - from the sales guy to the billing to the crew was outstanding. Extremely pleased and would hire these guys again without any hesitation."

"Dave and his great team of workers created a driveway and garden landscape for us that was gorgeous, beyond our expectation. The worked hard with great attitude and got the job done within a short period. They also tried a goatscape experiment with us to remove bamboo and did a great job getting rid of it. I highly recommend them to anyone!"

Drainage and foundation issues are common yet so often misdiagnosed. Typical warning signs are damp, leaky basements, yard flooding, erosion, foundation cracks, settling, moldy smells. Unchecked, these issues can lead to structural damage, mold, and resulting property devaluation. With so many differing methods out there, how do you know which one is actually viable? Proposals can seem conceptually similar, but design details and specs are crucial. Every problem requires a unique combination of corrective measures to achieve an effective result. The approach should never be one size fits all. Our consultants have the expertise to provide you an effective solution to your unique case. Whether it's storm water flooding and eroding your land, a stressed leaking foundation, a wet basement, you can count on our team's vast experience to apply proper design with high attention to detail. Call Archer Contractors today for your friendly consultation.

"Tim was amazing during the project, start to finish. He was much better explaining the repairs and finished the project sooner than expected. Tim was great keeping me updated during the project and couldn't ask for better communications. I highly recommended the 95 Concrete and Home Improvement."

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.
Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.
Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.
An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
