"Yanez did an exceptional job replacing my laminate countertop with granite. I had gotten estimates from Home Depot and Lowes, which were a lot more expensive and for some reason involved weeks of preparation before the work could be done. Yanez completed the measurements and helped me choose an attractive sink and faucet. within a week he installed a beautiful granite countertop as well as repairing a cracked floor sash with the same granite as a finishing touch the same day. He was polite and respectful of my property and cleaned up well after the work was done."

"I highly recommend Demetrius! He and his crew did a wonderful job that included painting the interior of my 70 year old home as well as repairing damaged walls, ceilings and window frames, all while proactively seeking out and fixing whatever was needed, without needing to be asked! Their careful attention to detail was truly appreciated and this project was delivered beyond my expectations. These guys are trustworthy, punctual, hardworking and very tidy! I have already recommended this crew and will certainly be hiring them again in the future."

"Working with OZ General Contracting Company Inc. for kitchen and bathrooms renovation was a great experience. Uzi and Lori were amazing at helping us re-design our kitchen and bathrooms. They made us feel comfortable by providing lots of insights and suggestions for selecting new cabinets, countertops backsplash and tiles. Mike and David were great looking at day-to-day activities throughout the project. The crew assigned for the project was very professional, easy to work with and great with the communication. The crew came on time every day and did an excellent job. Overall, the whole project was completed as expected and within the agreed upon timeline. Very satisfied with the work and finished product. I would highly recommend OZ General Contracting to anyone looking for house remodeling. It was nice to work with a professional team who truly cares about their customer."

"After their great work with the popcorn ceiling removal, we hired them to redo our bathroom. It turned out to be a gut renovation. They did a beautiful job! Great craftsmanship from all fronts - plumbing, electrical, and tile work. They were very professional, showed up when they promised, and finished the work in a reasonable amount of time. They also cleaned up after themselves each day."

"Iâ  m the proud owner of a house that is older than the country-the Schenck family farm house in Syosset, NY. Itâ  s on the National Register of Historic Places. Memo and his team were highly recommended to me by someone who also owns an old house. They did an outstanding job on a complicated roof in a short period of time and left my property neat and clean. I could be more satisfied. Itâ  s rare to find people so good. Rav Freidel"

"Ryan Boris responded promptly to the ANGI notification to contact me. He also showed up promptly for his scheduled appointment. Tri-Point's price for restoring my granite counter tops was reasonable, and my counters look like new. Would recommend."

"We hired Starkie Landscaping Design to create a patio space for a hot tub. Mr. Starkie created an amazing area that exceeding our expectations. He is hands on throughout the entire process and his level of communication is excellent. The crew that completed the job was outstanding. These men are hard workers, meticulous and always made sure all areas were clean before they left for the day. As we are new homeowners, Mr. Starkie was able to provide us with recommendations for other specialists that were needed after the job such as irrigation and electric. Even after the project was completed, Mr. Starkie came back to check in on our plants as we were nervous about the heat wave. He truly cares about his customers and takes pride in his work. I would highly recommend Starkie Brothers to any of my family and friends."

"Project number 2 in the books with Stars & Stripes. The previous job (kitchen) that they did in Dec 2023 made it a very easy decision to partner with again. Needless to say they did not disappoint. The bathroom came out amazing. The professionalism, craftsmanship, and attention to detail is second to none. I would highly recommend for any home improvement job especially kitchen or bathroom. Thanks again to Bob, Steven, Angel, and the entire Stars & Strips team. That are my “go to guys!”"

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
