"Frank and his crew renovated the garden bed next to my front stoop. They removed dead and overgrown plants, and installed new plants with topsoil and weed mat, a Belgian Block border and decorative stone around the plants. Frank is conscientious and a good communicator. I already have other projects planned for Bergin Property Management!"

"Bought a faucet at Lowe's. After looking at the connections for a pedestal sink, I decided to have this one professionally installed. It was a two hour procedure for a professional plumber. Though not a difficult job for a plumber, everything about the job was very professional. Appointment was confirmed. A telephone call was provided giving an update of when the plumber would arrive. Kevin was the name of our plumber. He was very courteous. He covered our floor, wore shoe covers, cleaned up afterwards. He checked the plumbing for leaks and drainage. Contracting the way it should be."

"We were very pleased with the work that was done. It was not an easy job to repair a tongue and groove porch, but it came out perfect."

"From the beginning, before the actual work had even begun, we were pleased with the fact that Aleks would always answer calls and respond to emails promptly. We mostly communicated via email, as we sought to avoid calling him on his cell while he was on another job, though the few times we did call him (when we needed immediate information), he responded in a friendly and helpful manner. We purchased all the materials (shower doors, guest bath sink and faucet, kitchen faucet, wall and floor tiles for master bath and floor tiles for guest bath, wall paint, plumbing materials and fixtures). Aleks obtained for us the countertop that we wanted. The entire job lasted nine working days. He and his staff (Ben and Mike) arrived early every day. They asked us frequently where we wanted things placed (such as the shower seat, inset for shampoos and such, and plumbing fixtures) so that everything was exactly how and where we wanted it. Their work was exceedingly neat and their attention to detail was extraordinary. We couldn't be more pleased with the final result in both bathrooms. They cleaned up every day and when the work was finished, their final cleanup left the place spotless. They did exactly what they said they would do, and more. We would not hesitate to use them on a future project. They would be the first contractor we would call.

"I had old style yellow oak kitchen cabinets. Instead of tearing them out, I decided to reface with MadCity. They were professional, efficient and did excellent work. My cabinet doors were re-made in a newer more modern style, the hinges are now on the inside and slow close, and the finish is beautiful. I am now proud of my kitchen. I would recommend MadCity based on quality of their product and work. These have a lifetime guarantee and being local, I am confident in their service in the future (though I'm doubting I will have issues). Great experience from sale to installation."

"We live in an old home which can be difficult to work with standard measurements. Laziz and his team (Josh and Tom) did a fantastic job making sure everything was taken into consideration when installing the new shower, They were prompt, the quality of the work excellent and they did a great job cleaning up (one of my pet peeves since many workers do not). Love the manufactured stone look! Would use again and highly recommend."

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
