"We had to put s stairlift I'm my parents house. These guys were great. We were worried about the tight fit of my parents stairs. This was not a problem at all. They explained everything in great detail to my parents on the operation and use. It was a stairlift or sell our family home. Highly recommend!"

"Buckland came out to survey the job, sat with me to explain what would be done, and how - and what materials they would use. Then they came on time the day the said they would; their workmanship was top-notch, and professionally completed on a timely basis all for a very reasonable price. I would absolutely use Buckland again for any household/home repair work."

"Dynamic basements did an outstanding job remodeling my basement. They installed premium flooring, updated the kitchenette with a full sink, dishwasher and countertops. They created a brand new, full bathroom from a cement basement storage area. While I had a general idea of how I wanted things laid out, Chris was invaluable in suggesting improvements while being mindful of my budget. Everyone who sees it, is impressed with the quality of work in the remodel. If you're considering any kind of a basement improvement, I highly recommend you contact Dynamic Basements Plus"

"Found Phillip Oswald, the business owner, courteous, prompt and reliable. Price was slightly higher; however, in emergency, it was acceptable. I plan to use him in future."

"Connecticut Basement Systems prides themselves on their superior customer service, and they really live up to that. Their communication, quality of products and service, and attentiveness to customer needs is unsurpassed. Here are a couple of examples of how they go the extra mile for a satisfied customer: They installed their basement drainage system around my existing heating oil tank, but as I'm planning to convert away from oil this summer, they offered to come back AT NO EXTRA CHARGE once the tank is removed, to reroute the drainage system. Also, I was scheduled for a 3-day project, which included the replacement of some flooring in my basement. On the day the project began, we reconsidered the need for the flooring, and asked if we could cancel that portion of the job. They could not have been more accommodating to that adjustment, and made the change with no questions asked or negative attitude, even though it significantly lowered the price of the project and eliminated a whole day of scheduled work on 2-days' notice. That sort of total customer dedication is rare. I recommend them highly."

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
