"Tom and his crew did excellent work on our deck removal and paver patio installation. Be sure to get on the schedule early! I hope to have Finishing Touch do additional work at my home as our budget allows."

"Overall working with Midtown was a positive experience., especially with labor shortages after the pandemic. All of the companies I was sent to to by Midtown were excellent experiences in make design design. I could change anything it would be these 2 items--the subcontractor used for the windows and the subcontractor used for the countertops. I would definitely use Midtown again."

"I purposely delayed writing this review until we had used the remodeled bathrooms and laundry room for a time. The work was exceptional and no major issues have arisen. Mikey and Jacob are excellent craftsmen and the work shows their pride in doing an excellent job. The cabinets are great, the closet doors that were custom made to accommodate the unusual sizes were also done well, and we love, love the Onyx countertops, shower stall, and bathtub walls. The plumbing was done correctly and no issues have been discovered. There are 3 minor issues that need to be resolved but they do not impact the overall function of the rooms. We will recommend this company."

Customers say: Quick response
"This is the 3rd time that I have had Vinny and his crew in to remodel my home. The first two were bathrooms that turned out great. It was finally time for the kitchen. He as usual was always on time, very professional and listened to all my wants and needs. He had a cabinet professional that came out to the house and helped with the cabinet and counter design which made that part of the remodel even easier. He does quality work for a reasonable price and I got the kitchen of me dreams."

"Please see above. I did not get a landscape plan. I believe Tom was used to working with larger yards.

"They did a top-notch job with top-notch materials. The trade-off, most expensive bid but with the best warranty. Should have left the site and deck 100% (they did 90%) clean when done."

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
