"After years of painting our home it was time to move up to a better solution. After searching the Better Business Bureau for local companies Krumwiede Home Pros stood out. They were top rated with 0 complaints. We were even able to initiate contact for a quote through the BBB. Michael was our salesperson and he was upfront and honest in capabilities and pricing. The pricing was so great we even upgraded to an insulated vinyl siding and we were still under what others quoted. We then met with Ross the production manager who went over every aspect of the job with us. This was great because we worked out any issues ahead of time. There were no surprises and we were all on the same page. The 2 gentlemen who came to do the work were great also. They showed up on time and worked hard everyday. They never left a mess and were easy to communicate with. We are very happy with the whole experience and our house looks awesome! Thanks Krumwiede Home Pros we are happy we met you!"

"Our 1960's era home needed some updating so we called RC Brothers Construction. They listened to our ideas, added some suggestions based on their experience and did a great job remodeling several rooms. They kept in contact throughout the process, making sure we knew the schedule and ensuring that everything was as expected. New flooring was installed, hardwood stair treads were added and refinished walls were painted. The workers were courteous and professional. They carefully moved and replaced furniture and appliances as needed. Even returned the extra flooring to the store for us so we could get a refund. Very happy with the results. Highly recommend and would definitely hire them again."

"We really enjoyed working with Joe Roller and his crew. His bid was very reasonable compared to others we got. He was up front with labor costs and the price of extra material he furnished for us. He was able to schedule us quickly. We were happily impressed when we sat down with Joe to discuss what we wanted done. We needed updated plumbing and electrical. We liked that there was a lot of quality work done before the tile and fixtures went in. He was familiar with the code requirements for our village and was ready to submit a request for permits that day we signed the contract. We passed every inspection the first time with no questions. He helped us find countertops, cabinets, sinks and a tub. We were able to assemble all the fixtures and tiles before the permit came through so that there was no waiting. He and his crews came just about every day (5-day week) once they started. They worked hard, cleaned up, and were very respectful of us and the property. He was very accommodating in any number of ways. The work is well done and what we wanted. We would highly recommend Anix, Inc."

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
