"Very responsive, extremely knowledgeable, excellent problem solvers. They kind of really solved the mystery of why the generator didn't work that had to do with the electric."

"You cannot find a better contractor than Raufi Services. We hired Raufi Services to install 240V/50A wiring for a hot tub. They were extremely efficient, polite, and timely. The quality of their work was outstanding--I couldn't even tell they ran the wiring in the house after they were done. They were also very competitive in their cost estimate."

"I have been hiring Cody Malone since we purchased our house in July 2012. They have switched out outlets, installed indoor ceiling fans, installed outdoor ceiling fans, ran electrical to my outdoor water feature and switched out my light fixtures. I plan to hire them again when I add electric to my detached garage. They always do a great job and arrive when they say they will. I have never had a single issue and they have been to my house for no less than six different projects!"

"I interviewed a few electricians before settling on CoreTrade. John was the only one that showed up and took notes on what I wanted done. We’ve done a full kitchen gut and remodel. I had mapped out what electrical work I wanted done. He provided some advice based on his experience, which was appreciated. The quote he provided covered everything I asked for. The guy that didn’t take notes didn’t remember all the work I wanted done. Because we were doing most of the remodel ourselves there were several months in between the start and finish of the electrical work. John and crew were very accommodating. Our house is old and it wasn’t easy work. The price was very reasonable. Every time they showed up when they said they would. John was very helpful overall. There was a point when one of the installers was making claims about the electrical and John came by that day to look. He confirmed that the electrical was done right and explained how the installer needed to work around it."

"We brought in Root to do some major work and they made it look easy. The technicians were friendly and professional and arrived on time... early in fact. We then hired them for some more minor work and they treated it with no less sense of importance than our previous major work. They price they quoted was the price I paid and the kept me informed of what they were doing and my options during the whole process. Super job... as long as we are using electricity, we will use Root. Thanks!"

In some states and municipalities, licensed and registered handypersons can change a light fixture and do minor electrical work. However, you should check with your state and local licensing boards before hiring a local handyperson. In most cases, it’s safer and more practical to hire an electrician for this job. It may cost more, but hiring a licensed electrician means they’ll get the work done to code.
Special light fixtures, known as damp-rated light fixtures, are recommended in bathrooms, particularly if they're near damp areas like showers and over the bathtub. However, in most locations, they’re not a strict requirement. For safety and longevity, damp-rated fixtures are a better choice. If you work with a lighting contractor in your area, they may be able to recommend the right kinds of fixtures for your space.
Yes, it’s possible to run a second light fixture to a switch, meaning the light switch would control more than one light fixture. Several factors can impact whether it’s possible and how much it will cost. In many cases, it may be easier and more affordable for the contractor to install independent light switches. Talk to your electrician about your idea to get their feedback.
