"I had Mike out here to do a chimney sweep and inspection and he was amazing! He was very kind and had a lot of knowledge on chimneys. When the day came to do the repair he got here on time unlike most companies, and did an outstanding job with my chimney repairs. I couldn’t be more happy with Mike, the company, and the amazing chimney I know get to burn in safely!"

"On May 13th Michael came out to see what we needed done and to give us an estimate. He climbed up onto the roof, inspected it all over, and suggested replacing the roof caps and turbines and some of the face boards that had rotted under the gutters. He explained that they honored the Angie's List coupon by making repairs beyond the roof replacement up to the value of the coupon for no additional charge. That meant that we'd get the new turbines, boots, wood replacement, and the painting for free. He was thorough and experienced and made well thought out suggestions. While on the phone with Steve, they suggested the use of some 30 year shingles that they had on hand instead of the 20 year shingles in the estimate - for no additional charge. He explained everything clearly and simply. The estimate was a very reasonable price. We signed the contract that day and gave him a check for half of the estimate amount.

On May 15th the roofing supplies were delivered. Jeff and Mike came out that day and started the roofing work. Both those guys were well mannered gentlemen and hard workers. The temperature on the roof must have been 100 degrees, and they worked right through it. We stopped by to do some stuff inside the house a couple of times during the process and were amazed at how much they'd done each time. It was obvious they knew their trade, so we just tried to stay out of their way and not hinder them.

The roofing and all the other work was finished on May 17th a few hours before the thunderstorms came through. Joey called us to let us know they were through so we could go by and see if we were happy with the end product. We went by and were very pleased with everything. Joey told us we could leave the other half payment in a marked envelope in our mailbox and he'd come by and pick it up. That's real customer friendly service.

We were very pleased with everyone at One Call Roofing, the job they did on the roof, and the price. We will definitely us them again and recommend them to anyone we know."

"On the exterior work the brick is a match with the existing parts of the house that were previously already brick which was a concern.  Windows are a big improvement over what we had.  For the price - very good.
For the partial kitchen remodel we needed a wall moved and a new electrical line added.  Excellent work and quick.

"They did an excellent  job in building my new  railings and support beams for the entire  length of my front porch. They tore down my old rotted wood railings and support beams and did a good job cleaning up and disposing the old material. I would use them again for any re-modeling work needed outside or inside my home. They were very professional in their work   and finished the job completely in the time frame that was written in the estimate.

FAQs for fireplace and wood stove service projects in Graceville, FL

Start with a professional inspection. If damage is limited to a few bricks or the crown, a targeted repair helps keep costs and disruption to a minimum. Severe leaning, widespread mortar failure, or major fire damage usually signals it’s time for a complete teardown and rebuild. Your contractor will outline both price tags, but remember that rebuilding a failing stack is often cheaper than repeated patch jobs and the water leaks or fire hazards they allow.

Cracks provide water with an easy path into the masonry, weakening the bricks and mortar and increasing the risk of collapse or fire. Gaps can also let hot gases and sparks escape into attic spaces. Call a chimney pro as soon as you see cracking so they can seal small joints or recommend a larger rebuild before minor damage turns into a costly emergency.

Smoke rolling back into the room often indicates a blocked flue, a broken damper, or a drafting issue. Have a sweep inspect the damper, flue liner, and any obstructions right away. Most fixes involve clearing debris, repairing the liner, or adjusting the damper so the fireplace pulls air correctly. Don’t light another fire until a professional pinpoints the cause and confirms your system is venting safely.

Most policies cover chimney repairs caused by a sudden, covered event, such as lightning, a fallen tree, or a house fire. They won’t cover damage that stems from neglected maintenance or everyday wear. Review your policy or contact your agent before scheduling work to determine what documentation your insurer requires and what costs you will be responsible for.

Component life spans vary. Clay tile or cast-in-place liners last close to 50 years, while stainless-steel liners last 15 to 20 years. Mortar requires attention every 25 to 30 years, while crowns last 50 to 75 years. Use these numbers as a maintenance roadmap: schedule regular inspections, budget for future upgrades, and replace parts before age-related cracks develop into more significant problems.
