"Excellent service from H-Town Chimney. Cleaned the chimney, reworked and updated our gas fireplace, painted fireplace inside and out. Very nice young man who came out. "Tom and his partner were AMAZING! They were honest, took pictures, didnâ t try to up-sell and were very helpful in explaining my fireplace situation. In fact, they converted my fireplace from wood burning to gas log burning on the same day and my fireplace is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! They arranged the rocks and just did an amazing job. They also inspected our roof and made repairs where the high winds from the storm had moved shingles around the chimney. I would recommend them very, VERY HIGHLY! They went OVER AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY! I am grateful and pleased. The only reason I had them come was to inspect the chimney as a precaution before winter."

"I highly recommend Don Moser for any home project you may have in mind. I contracted SOS to replace my rear exterior door. The results were outstanding in ever respect! Don can be described as meticulous, caring, honest, conscientious, knowledgeable and reliable. I requested a turnkey solution and he came through BIG TIME. I have another project lined up for him regarding an interior door replacement. Very happy with every aspect of the project including the clean up!! Don provided great value for $$ spent!"

Some cities, like New York City, ban wood-burning fireplaces altogether. In places like Colorado and the California Bay Area, laws dictate when you can use your wood-burning fireplace based on air quality. Since regulations vary by location, it's best to consult a local contractor familiar with your area's laws. You can also check the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) website for state ordinances and regulations.
Yes, you can add a fireplace to your existing home, but it requires careful planning and professional evaluation. You'll need to construct a safe chimney, ensure proper ventilation, and comply with local building codes and HOA regulations. This project involves significant structural modifications and specialized labor, so hiring a qualified fireplace contractor is essential to ensure safety and code compliance.
Fireplaces enhance a home's value because they create a warm and inviting atmosphere while adding a distinctive architectural feature. A fireplace not only elevates a residence’s appeal but also contributes to greater market value. Industry research confirms that homes with fireplaces command higher sale prices, and homeowners benefit from an improved living environment.
Yes, installing a fireplace increases your home insurance costs because it raises the risk of fire and may require additional coverage. A fireplace demands dedicated safety inspections and documented maintenance, and insurers enforce stricter requirements, which drive higher premiums. Homeowners must consult their insurance providers and adhere to regular inspection schedules to manage these increased costs.
