"After getting quotes from a few companies for a new A/C systemI decided to go with Weathershield.  Their price was very fair and they were very professional.  Air conditioning works great. When the A/C went in an condo I own I called them. They did me a big favor and did the work up in Palm Beach county which is an area they do not usually service.  Again, everything went perfectly.  The A/C works great. The office manager Christine is a total sweetie and so helpful. Just called them to clean our dryer vent, so happy they provide that service, I wouldn't trust anyone else.... Thanks guys!

"Arrived at 9:30 am. Installation went smoothly. They took away the old system. Very happy with the new Carrier system. They showed me how to program the digital thermostat. I was without AC for a week because my old AC's condenser coil had a leak in the aluminum part. My condenser was mismatched with my air handler/evaporator so the whole system needed to be replaced. These guys did a great job and cleaned up the work debris after."

"We got three estimates. Yudel was very responsive, helpful and professional - with competitive quotes. He personally surveyed the job site to make sure all would be in order for the Heat Pump model we were interested in. The installation was done without a hitch by his techs. A spotless - five-star job."

"The service was great. They came in, inspected my system, and provided me with options, with one of the options being to replace the system with a new system. I chose this option because the system I had was old, and I didn't want to have to deal with this issue in the future, and the cost was reasonable. The unit was installed the very next day with little to no issues."

"The owner, Ozzy, came out within an hour of my call to repair my AC unit at a condo in Sunny Isles Beach Fl. He diagnosed the problem as a bad/corroded capacitor and low freon. Other repairmen would have tried to sell me a new unit. He was able to repair the system quickly and the fee was very reasonable. He also gave me a restaurant recommendation when I asked for something different. Yambo, a Nicaraguan restaurant. I highly recommend him."

"Scheduling was easy and technicians arrive on time. However we realized they were not very experienced as they took 4 1/2 hours to clean the evaporator coil. They apparently affected something in the system that took them the extra time to correct. They obviously didn't say what wrong turn they made to end up taking all the extra time to correct. I would recommend this company to make a better job training their techs."

"The specific work performed was to seal a Freon 22 leak in the outdoor coils of a 14 year old Trane XL15 unit. We had our previous a/c contractor out here in May, and they never even attempt to tell us there was a problem. Then we had another local contractor diagnose the leak, on their second visit and after wasting $500 worth of the Freon. They said it was impossible to repair and were going to quote a totally new system at around $4,300. I then went to the Trane.com site and found RCI Air. I called early this Monday and was happy to speak with Mike the owner. He sent out Lazaro the Technician, within the hour. Lazaro had it quickly diagnosed and explained all of possible options. He sealed the leak using a special epoxy compound that when heated, will seal cracks on aluminum pipes. Lazaro spent nearly 3 hrs. making the repairs and properly recharging and checking the system. This is day two and the air is coming out nice and cold. If you have an older Trane brand unit, I highly recommend that you call RCI air."

"Skyline HVAC did an excellent job installing my AC. The installer was professional, on time, and clearly knew what they were doing. They explained the process, worked efficiently, and made sure everything was installed cleanly and correctly. Before leaving, they double-checked that the system was running perfectly. My AC works great and I’m very happy with the service. I’d definitely recommend Skyline HVAC to anyone needing quality HVAC work."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Hialeah, FL

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
