"Hiring Williams & Assoc. has turned out to be one of the best decisions Iâ ve ever made! From the very start, this experience was excellent! Bruce and his team were professional, kind, and helpful when describing the system we purchased and answering the hundred questions we had along the way. Their attention to detail and all of the little extras one wouldnâ t even expect to receive were provided as if it were second nature to them. And the team worked tirelessly, without stopping until the job was finished. We were happy to have them in our home. These are genuinely good people. Our old boiler was past the point of being dangerous. Smoke filled the basement every time it came on. Anyone could see that we were in an emergency position and had no choice but to replace the old system. Some companies Iâ ve dealt with in the past would have taken advantage of our situation. But not Williams! The price for our new high efficiency heating system was very â veryâ reasonable. Due to our situation, the work was started and completed almost immediately and the service was excellent! My wife and I highly recommend Williams & Associates."

"Its often hard to get  someone to commit to doing small repair jobs. Almost everyone wants to deal with larger constructon projects. II'm happy that Bob responded to my requst to replace a powered roof vent. After a short delay in responding to my request which he did mention might happen in his auto-reply Email, Bob set up an appointment to do the work within a few days and was prompt in showing up to the job and finished in a reasonable time. Very nice guy that does quality work.  I would not hesitate to call him again"

"They did a fine job, but hit me with an amended bill, stating my costs would be $800 more, when they arrived to do the work. As the bill was already typed up, I assume they could have given me a head's up beforehand, as they had a picture of my outdated system. Good work, but not the 1/2 price bargain I expected, already had a quote from a local electrician for what became the final charge. They did a fine job, but the surprise extra $800 soured me a bit."

"They did a very good job. They took a lot of time. They went through and identified all of the air leakages in our house and then they did weatherization some improvements like air sealing and change light bulbs and things like that to improve our energy efficiency."

"I was having a problem with MS Office not responding and other files being very, very slow to open. Jim started looking for the cause right away. He did numerous checks for viruses, malware, and various other things that can go wrong. He vigorously pursued a resolution pretty steadily for two days before determining it was a malfunctioning external backup system that was causing the problem. With that finding, he promptly got my computer running smoothly and very fast again. He made two trips to my house; on the first one, he had to cross a sheet of ice in my driveway. Jim is a very capable and experienced computer analyst that will get after your problem because he fully understands the importance of, and the need to have a working computer in the house.

"Steve did a great job from start to finish. He was quick to come out and give us a quote, gave us information and answered all of our questions about the system, and started the job on the day he said he was coming. He was very professional and respectful when in our home and I will be using him for any HVAC servicing we may need. Highly recommend."

"This was an all around fantastic experience! I needed furnace work done. From phone call to service was a quick turn around! Andre was incredibly knowledgeable. Any questions I asked he had an answer for and broke down it down for the average joe to understand! I won't use any other company. It's nice to see curtesy and a great work ethic! Everything was up and running the same day. On top of it all he cleaned up as he went progressed through the project."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Rogers, CT

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
