"Ever since we purchased our home, we had a water leak around the pipe that brings fresh water into our home. It leaked only when it rained. We had other contactors try to stop this leak but they were unsuccessful. When we had a severe rain storm that flooded part of our basement, we called Select Basement Waterproofing. They diagnosed the problem, which was difficult for us to understand. Both DJ and Jerome were very patient in explaining the problem to us. They assured us that they would do what ever it takes to fix this leak. The service men that came to our home were knowledgeable and very pleasant to deal with. They explained every step that they took to stop this leak. They day after they completed their work, we had a rain storm. For the first time in 13 years we had no water enter our basement. We highly recommend using Select Basement for all your basement needs.

"Angi's list comes through again. Good Tidings Plumbing is a pleasure to work with. Mark was very knowledgeable and clearly communicated our options. He diagnosed the cause of our kitchen faucet leak quickly. We were sure a whole new faucet was needed, but he fixed it at much less expense. He also replaced our soap dispenser, which never worked, with a much improved model. Mark at Good Tidings is now our go-to plumber!!!!!"

"They come to the house to show me samples of the products before they’re installed so ensure I am happy. The cabinets have this coating that do not allow for the stains to be etched into the materials, no stains makes cleaning them a breeze! So many different designs and very very in depth facing for the cabinets as well. The salesman was very knowledgeable, and finance was a breeze with @Enerbank. So I was extremely pleased with the process to say the least. They do offer granite and so many other amazing offerings, the backsplash selection has me in an oasis of possibilities, needless to say it was a very fun meaningful and exciting experience. I got phone calls emails and returned calls after 10AM, because I hate the 7AM calls so much! All and all please consider them as your 1 stop shop!!!"

"Woke up to my water heater spraying water like a fountain—definitely not how you want to start the day. NJ Plumbing and Heating Guys responded within 10 minutes of me reaching out, scheduled a visit right away, and showed up exactly when they said they would. Elvis was efficient, professional, and incredibly helpful. He clearly explained what went wrong and what was needed to fix it, which I really appreciated. Pricing was fair, and everything was repaired the same day. Elvis is the man—I’m super grateful for his help. I highly recommend NJ Plumbing and Heating Guys. They’ve officially become my go-to plumbers for any future needs."

"Unlike any other plumber I contacted, Alfano followed up with me the same day. The very next morning they had a plumber onsite for the estimate and one day after that the work was done. Great service especially these days."

"Sheldon arrived promptly and very courteous. My hot water boiler needed to be bled. I could not get heat to the third floor unit. I tried bleeding boiler myself previously with no prevail. Sheldon gave me a price over the phone to get the heat going. Sheldon changed a faulty valve that prevented proper bleeding of the system. Sheldon kept his word on the price although he had to do more work than expected to get the job done. A fair price for the work performed. I will definitely call him again for future repairs and refer him as well."

Schedule a plumbing inspection every one to two years to ensure your system is in good working order. Regular inspections can help you catch minor issues before they become costly problems, like major water damage repairs. You should also consider a plumbing inspection when buying or selling a home or if you notice signs of a plumbing issue. Staying proactive with maintenance can save you money and stress in the long run.
A plumbing inspection for a standard one-story to two-story home takes between two and three hours. For larger residences, historic homes, or rental complexes, a complete inspection requires a full-day commitment of eight hours. However, this does not account for any necessary repairs that your plumber might find, so it’s best to set aside additional time during the inspection in case an unexpected repair comes up.
When built with quality materials, your plumbing system endures for decades. CPVC, brass, iron, and steel provide reliable service for 50 to 70 years, while copper extends durability up to 100 years, and PEX maintains performance for 80 to 100 years. Maintaining this system with regular inspections and prompt repairs guarantees long-term efficiency.
You should repipe your home when your plumbing exceeds its expected lifespan or uses hazardous materials like lead, polybutylene, or galvanized steel. Persistent leaks, corrosion, and compromised water quality signal that your existing piping no longer meets safety standards. Repiping eliminates potential health risks and prevents extensive water damage.
