"Yes Guillermo did an excellent job staining and sealing my entire back porch then I hired him to do the garage because the work was so good. Thank you Guillermo and I need anything done in the future your my guy!"

"They did a great job. They prepped the deck very nicely and they were very good at cleaning up after themselves. The end result was very good and they did a great job."

"David gave me what I thought was a fair price for the work to be done. He asked for 1/2 up front. As a previous small business owner I did not feel this was unreasonable so I paid him 500.00. He estimated the work would take 3 to four days and I thought the same. After several no shows the "mason" showed up. The first clue was he came in a car. According to my wife he was here 2 hours and left, came back for another 2 hours the next day and left again. He said nothing to my wife about leaving or when he would be back. David called a day later to ask about coming out to look over the job and get the rest of the other 500.00. I said he isn't finished and he's only been here 4 hours. So then I looked up the prevailing wage in IL for a mason and found out it is 28.50 an hour. The next day the guy comes back for another 3 hours. David came to look at the work and I walked him around and showed him all of the places that had not been done. So the guy comes back again for about an hour. All told it was 8 hours work, nothing to write home about but it was agreed up front that I wasn't looking for an exposed brick look. I need it tuck pointed well enough so that I could drylock and paint the exposed brick. I will say this was done in the end. The worker left a mess that I and my wife had to clean up, I pointed this out to David as well. I told him I felt he was overly paid for the amount of work preformed and that was the end of it. It's really to bad. It's difficult to get contractors to do small jobs and I had plenty for him to do. I'm not unhappy, just would not hire again"

"THE GOOD   The interview went very well. I had a list of questions as to how the work would be performed and Mike answered the questions with confidence in every part of the job. After talking to him I felt comfortable believing the job would be done correctly.  We talked about materials and agreed on a price that was comparable to other bids. I told him I was not in a hurry. A different contractor said it would be 6 weeks so I guess in my mind I thought work would start in about that time frame. To be fair, Mike never gave me a start date.  This all happened in the middle of May.
THE BAD   It took a week before we picked shingle brand and color and I paid an $8000 payment. 2 large pallets of materials arrived in the first week of June. The next communication with Mike was the last week of June with him saying the weather had slowed him down. The next contact was the middle of July. Mike said it would be a little longer. I contacted him again at the end of August and he said he was heading my way soon. I contacted him middle of Sept. and was told 2 weeks weather permitting. After 2 weeks Mike texted me saying it would be longer.  I replied with concerns about the material being on pallets in my yard for 4 months and gave him 3 weeks to start work or refund my payment minus material costs. He replied he had the permit and would start work the first week of Oct. Dumpster arrived on a Monday 8 days later. Some wood was dropped off on Friday. Work started the next Friday.
MORE GOOD   Once the crew was here they did a great job. They protected my and the neighbors house during tear off and cleaned up every day. After tear off we discovered the addition roof tie in needed to be corrected which was outside the original bid. Mike rebuilt that and it looks and functions great. He did a lot of extras like disposing of some junk I had and putting some bolts in the front porch for a swing. He also partially roofed the playhouse to match the house(untill he ran out of shingles).I was very happy with the work.
MORE BAD  A week later I requested a paid in full invoice for taxes and the playhouse roof to be finished and Mike said he would take care of it.
It's been 7 weeks and still no invoice or finished roof on the playhouse.
FINAL WORD   If you want a quality job and have no time pressure then I recommend Mike. This was a 2 1/2 story hip roof and was not an easy job and took over 7 days to complete. That may have figured in to to delay. All in all it's been a roller coaster ride. He probably would have gotten here sooner if his Angies list A rating (and rightfully so in most cases) wouldn't have increased his business so much.

"He did an excellent job, and was very professional. He was very meticulous with his work. He is very trustworthy, I feel very comfortable with him in my home."

"It looks Great !!! They are Very professional and prompt. Plus they keep in touch by texting. I would definitely hire them again. In fact I plan on hiring them for painting the interior."

"I am selling my house, and the home inspector found mold. I found these people on Angie's List and came out in a timely manner. He seemed really nice, and they got it done over the weekend. They were done within about 6 hrs. We put plastic sheeting and put on protective suits and treated everything. I paid him at the end. I asked for a receipt, and he gave me an email including the proposed offer and included. I asked him for a written receipt with itemized list of the work that was done and the chemicals that were used. It was all in technical language, and I asked for company letterhead instead of an email so we can use it for verification in the sale of our home. We also got a call from our realtor and lawyer requesting for some licensing information in order to get the sale finalized. I called him multiple times because what he sent it wasn't enough to clear the sale. He would not provide anything in writing or anything about his licensing. He also didn't check any vents which were supposed to be included."

"Sal was recommended to us by a friend that found him here on Angie's List. We had him completely gut our bathroom to the studs. Overall he did a great job. Everything was undated that needed to be including plumbing, exhaust fan, mold resistant wet area dry wall etc. The shower he built turned out perfect and we get compliments from everyone thats sees it. At first we thought his price was a little high, but we are so glad we went with him. You actually do get what you pay for. I gave him a "B" under responsiveness only because we had to wait approx 6 weeks for him to schedule the work. With that said it is a good comfortable feeling to know that he is that busy and in such a high demand. I would recommend Scott to anybody that wants a honest quality job done at an affordable price point.

"I was very pleased with the paint project Mr. Paint did. Their crew was very respectful of my furnishings and did an outstanding job of finishing the rooms with careful thoroughness. All of my flooring was protected and furniture too. The job was completed and a crew member returned to be sure all edging was perfectly done and paintings/mirrors were returned to their original locations. I am very pleased with their performance and would hire them again if needed."

"Fair. Couldn't find part and didn't contact me. I reached out to them and they said they would replace. Still waiting for that call. I continue to use them, I've been a customer for many years, because when they are good, they are great. They have repaired many things for us over the years and we are generally pleased with their vendors."
