"This is over a month in time and the leak turned into a stream of gushing hot water. There was a also a leak at the shut off valve so you couldn't cut off the water to the house completely. That had to be fixed first. While that was getting done, I had three different plumbers come out with an estimate of over $500. Each said they would be back the next day. Two of them I got off Angie's List of the top plumbers in my area. Of course, I didn't get a name since they would be back. Wish I had as I would certainly mention them by name on here. They didn't even have the courtesy to call. I did finally figure out cutting the hot water heater off so my gush was now cold water. I called Keith the Plumber and he came out. Was here maybe an hour and fixed my problem for just over $100. Knew exactly what the problem was. Very professional and a really nice, honest man so, I would highly recommend him. He is now in my contact list for plumbers."

"Shane traced my problem to overflow of septic tank, and recommended that I have septic tank work done. He did not try to get me to have unecessary plumbing work done. Ben Franklin Plumbing responded with same-day service and sent a skilled plumber who understood my problem and did not try to cash iin by selling me services I didnâ t need. Thanks Shane!"

"I was very happy with them at the beginning but was more irritated than happy with them at the end. The two workers that did the demo, carpentry and painting were excellent. The guy that did the tile did okay with the tile but I found a place in the shower floor that was filled with caulk. It came out when I was cleaning and left a hole in the grout. There were several things they did at the end that I thought were sloppy. The supervisor told me to and quot;trust him and quot; and go ahead and pay him and he would come back the next work day and install the insulation that I paid for and I still haven't heard back after more than a month. I had someone else fix the things that were not right or undone.

"They left back door open 2x and did not haul off carton water heater came in."

"The tub was purchased by the Plumbing company I Hired to instal it"

"Overall I was pleased with the work.  I talked to several companies and there were positive and negatives on all of them.  I ended up using AFS because I felt their recommendations more inline with what needed to be done and they appeared to have more experience doing this work than others.  The prices were pretty much the same per pier for all the companies. I actually had another national company scheduled but I had difficulty getting in contact with my rep after the work was scheduled and then when the crew arrived they would not dig because utility locators had not come to mark, but I still don't know who was suppose to call. I canceled the job and this is when I called AFS back.

The sales guy (which is one issue I have with these companies and the work they do) was in constant contact and did what he could to answer any questions, even having one of the owners contact me.  I would highly recommend getting a certain number of additional extensions for free or a limit to how many you would pay for.  This issue seems to be common across the references I called that no one knows how many, if any, extra extensions would be required ahead of time.  Someone from the office called to confirm the schedule and the crew arrived when they were suppose to. The crew was very professional and seemed to know what they were doing.  As with any type of construction I would recommend overseeing the work being done to ensure it is to your standards including cleanup.

They had to return the next week to complete the concrete work outside due to rain.  The concrete work was probably the area I was least satisfied, but I knew going in that cutting concrete and repairing was probably going to be difficult to do properly by a non-concrete crew.

Any type of construction work is going to be difficult to get an excellent from me (I'm a little picky) especially the invasivness of this type of work but overall I am satisfied with the work performed and most of the references seemed to have a lot of the same comments I came away with."

"Excellent customer service, a virtual assistance diagnosis was made on my dishwasher, connection for parts, provision of part numbers and cost of parts. I was able to then get a service person in my area and be more comfortable informing the service company about my concerns. We may need to purchase a replacement for this dishwasher which is 13 years old, but Neli’s Virtual Customer Services helped me to proceed with confidence and knowledge for the next steps in solving this problem."
