"Indy at Golden Willow listened to what we needed and worked promptly to share plans and reasonable estimate. The work was done within a week, and I was surprised to come home to see all done within a day, cleaned up, and exactly as we discussed."

"VERY impressed with the work and overall professionalism of Coast to Coast. From the proposal/quote stage all the way through payment, everything was fully communicated, executed quickly, and delivered with the utmost attention to detail —probably 2-3 weeks from first contact to finished work. They fixed the tuck pointing on our very old, crumbling limestone foundation and installed 3 glass brick windows. Even rough areas I would've expected them to miss because I hadn't explicitly pointed them out were touched up. Would definitely use again in the future. THANKS"

"Highly recommend Tigele for tile work in Chicago. Worth every cent and completed the work well within the expected timeline. High quality work, timely service, and great clean up. We worked with Johan, who installed a new backsplash in our kitchen. He was on time and cleaned up extremely well. He communicated throughout the process and asked questions whenever clarification was needed."

"I want to commend this company. In the midst of a replacement window project, I realized that my builder had completely messed up the masonry and lintel beam over windows. These guys came in, removed bricks and limestone over two large windows, replaced the lintel beam and replaced the bricks and limestone so it looked better than when they started. Top notch work; cleaned up everything. Highly recommend."

"Pavestone Rockwall pecan bricks were purchased by our contractor. Home Depot loaded the pallet on his truck and he brought it to our yard. While unloading we noticed a third of the pallet was pecan. The rest appeared as cinderblock. When returned to Home Depot they were very cooperative in refunding. Home Depot told us this is a common problem with this product from Pavestone. When Pavestone is contacted the say they will correct the problem, but nothing is ever done. My contractor has contracted Pavestone here in Denver and was told a representative would come to check out our issue. Never seen anyone from Pavestone. They are totally unresponsive to paying customers requests. Arrogant and rude to disregard customers. Find other product if you can! We now have a partially built retaining wall and my contractor is searching Denver to find a pallet tgat even has a few pecan colored bricks! Pathetic customer service"

"I bought a new patio table from NW Metalcrafters to replace an older one that was no longer usable. The salesperson Brian was very helpful with the sale, letting me take home color samples to match the new table's finish with my old chairs that I had planned to keep. Several days after the table was delivered, I noticed that one of the legs was bent at a welding joint. I sent photos to NW Metalcrafters and they agreed right away to get a new table from the manufacturer as part of the warranty. Andrew was helpful in arranging and scheduling pickup of the old table and the delivery of the new table."

"Michael and his crew did a fantastic job for us in June 2020 ripping out and redoing all the landscaping around the perimeter of our ranch house and redoing the landscaping around the perimeter of our large wood deck in the backyard, planting several trees in the backyard, doing a large drainage project on the east side of our house so that we no longer no longer get flooding in our basement, replaced a broken clay pipe that ran under our unilock paver driveway originally done by another company, and laid a lot of new sod. I'm just getting around to writing this review now after two years have passed. Our regular landscapers have been maintaining the landscaping and everything still looks great, and the drainage system on the east lawn is still working to keep our basement dry. Michael was on site every day of the project and our lawn was immaculate after the work was completed, which was amazing considering all of the drainage pipes, mulch, rolls of sod, decorative rocks, large flagstones, and other materials. You can’t even tell the section where they had to remove and reset pavers and everything below the driveway in order to access the broken pipe, but I know they did because I saw them begin the project one day before leaving the house and by the time I got home, the driveway was put back together. Michael was very easy to reach by phone and email and was responsive to our needs. We finally have a cohesive look and easy to maintain landscaping around our house and most importantly, a dry basement for the first time we can remember. Michael even used some extra dirt and sod to shore up one side of our driveway which had eroded over the years since we have a lot of tree cover and pine trees on that side of the lawn, which was a nice surprise. Regarding the drainage project, prior to Ross & Jacks we had spent thousands doing interior basement waterproofing and a variety of other solutions proposed by other people over the years and had pretty much given up hope, but Michael very quickly understood our issue of standing water on the east lawn and did an outstanding job solving all of the contributing issues and then getting the excess water to flow to the front ditch as it always should have."

"We loved working with Ibro! He is super responsive, which is something people are usually concerned about when it comes to working with a contractor. Any time we had any questions or concerns, Ibro would call almost immediately. He showed up on time every day we expected and was always very neat & tidy with his work space. Our project costed about what we expected, and he does beautiful work! He renovated our primary bathroom and closet, and it’s everything we hoped it would be and more! He is very skilled and takes his time to make sure everything looks perfect. We are super impressed with his work and will definitely be using his services again for any future projects."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Addison, IL

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
