"This company rebuilt a badly deteriorated cement-block retaining wall which supports my elevated driveway, repaired numerous concrete sidewalk cracks and a crumbling step, replaced an ugly, old, insecure chain-link gate with a beautiful steel door, and installed attractive brick borders around a couple of small garden spaces (after also cleaning up those weedy spaces). The price was more than fair; I'm very pleased with the work, timeliness and charming personality. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again."

"I called Northern Virginia Asphalt for an estimate. The man I talked to was very responsive and flexible. The evening of the estimate, I expected someone from NOVA Asphalt; however, someone from Pave Masters Inc showed up and quoted me $3000. I looked Pave Masters up here on Angie's List and they have a D rating and a 1 out of 5 on Yelp. I'm not sure if NOVA Asphalt subcontracts work or what. Can't comment on the quality of work of Northern Virginia Asphalt, although be cautious if you arrange an estimate and someone from Pave Masters shows up."

"After finding Tillerman Gardens online and requesting an estimate for substantial hardscape/landscape work on our newly renovated house, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that Jesse, the owner, actually grew up in our neighborhood! On top of being a Takoma Park local, and an all around friendly, honest, business owner, we also came to learn that he does great work as well! His team completely transformed our hardscape areas, including installing a beautiful flagstone walkway and patio, a perfectly graded cement driveway, iron railings on our steps, and plants in a number of locations. On top of that, some of the work required some touch up and sealing and Jesse and his team have come out a couple of times later this spring to do that work unprompted. There's a little bit left, but I know they'll be around to finish it as they've taken care of us every step of the way. Even better, everything was done in budget. Look no further! "I am a senior with a background in construction.  After reviewing many contractors and speaking with some of them, I immediately knew I hit the jackpot when I spoke to Danny.
 
1.  He knew exactly what I needed and wanted done when I first spoke to him.  This entailed the replacement, repair, and installation of the items listed above with attention to quality in materials, prevention of future problems, a fair price, and a commitment to starting and showing up once the job was initiated.  Danny exceeded every expectation in these regards!
2.  I silently knew in advance manufacturers, quality and cost of exterior doors (including the french door), storm doors, door locks and deadbolts, leak-proof door sills for 6 inch exterior walls and a leak-proof barrier on the bottom of the door frames.  Without knowing of my preferences, Danny suggested the identical manufacturers and materials I had in mind.  At this juncture, we met and I hired Danny to perform the work.
3.  I am beyond pleased with the outcome of Danny's effort on this project.  As an example of his integrity, he asked me to trust him in the design and installation of an exterior octagonal window in a bathroom.  My wife and I were literally blown away with a handcrafted symmetrical waterproof tunnel and inside wall frame he created - more akin to an artistic piece than a window.
4. Inside work was always minimally invasive using tarps and soft shoes rather than work boots.  Outside and inside cleanup at the end of each work day was respectfully performed leaving no mess.
I would recommend Danny to anyone requiring any kind of interior or exterior installation, modification, or repair as I have seen firsthand examples of his experience, skills, and personal and business ethics.  In fact, Danny is presently working on costs to replace our roof."

"They worked very hard to level and square the retaining walls and patios. We were very impressed by the lack of cutting corners. Our original patio and retaining walls were never properly installed and they appear to have corrected this problem. For years, we also had a drainage problem on the two sides of the house. They installed a French drain on one side and a basin drain on the other. Time will tell if this completely solves the problem, but the drains were working over the last two days of rain. We were so impressed by the quality of their work that we are having them come back to do a few more landscaping items.

"Amazing work yet again from Marvin and his crew. They arrived promptly at 9:30am and completed the job by 3:30pm. They removed vines that were growing on my retaining wall, cleaned weeds and dirt around the top of the wall, repairs the stairs, and retaining wall base. The fixed wall cracks, removed the old junk filling, and installed wire mesh, fresh sand, gravel, and concrete. Previous estimates ranged from $9k-$45k to replace the wall/stairs, but that was outside my price range. Marvin recommended repairing the wall which would buy me a few years and get me past this pandemic. I’d 100% use them again in the future and strongly recommend them to any of my friends doing home hardscaping or landscaping."
