"Mottern did a fantastic job designing and installing a large flagstone-on-concrete patio for us. The work included excavating and leveling the site, pouring and re-enforcing the slab, and selecting and purchasing the stone, brick and other materials. In addition to the patio, Mottern also filled in an approx. 12 sq/ft section of brick wall where a door had been converted to a window. The filled-in brick and mortar matches the original 50-year old wall perfectly. Overall, the entire Mottern crew was prompt, responsive, professional, and very skillful. We would definitely use Mottern again."

"CM did a great job on my project, which was removal of the existing three sides of a Baltimore brick wall, 8 foot high on the long axis and 30 feet long, with two other sides of the town house wall needing complete removal and rebuild, due the wall starting to literally fall over due to poor footings on the original construction 50 years ago when the home was build. This is an end unit town home. This job was scheduled for two weeks and that estimate was correct. I had several estimates, two that were almost identical and CM offered a 1000 dollar discount on their price if I started the job before Christmas. I agreed and all went well with the work. The phasing for demo and build went well and the clean up after was great. I would hire these guys again any time. The initial estimate was given hours after they came to my home to look at the wall, while others took days to come back with a price on work."

"I have been meaning to share how wonderful XtraCare Landscaping is for some time. It was raining when I took photos, so I will update with photos from a sunny day when everything is dry (and a fresh coat of mulch is down). We cannot say enough good things about this company and their teams. Top Notch customer service and care. They are experts and professionals at every stage. They were extremely responsive and understanding whenever we had questions. This is our second time using XtraCare for a patio. We had a small flagstone patio installed at our previous home in Maryland. It was beautiful, and they guided us through each step, including going to the stone quarry to select the exact stone color, size & shape. We were extremely happy. We since moved to Northern Virginia, and after getting several quotes from local companies here, we were not feeling a comfort level for the design process and customer care with any of them, as we were spending a good amount of money on a much larger patio, this was a big deal. We were not sure if XtraCare would come to Virginia, but since we had such a great experience, we gave them a call and were thrilled to be able to work with them again! We instantly felt comfortable with the process, and knew we would have a beautiful patio, that would last. They guided us through each step with patience, attention to detail and understood the vision we had for our outdoor living space. We wanted a mixture of textures and ability to have different zones of functionality, including an area for trash storage and deck boxes tucked away, as well as a fire pit and pathways. We are beyond in love with our new outdoor space, and look forward to making many memories entertaining and enjoying it with family and friends. I will add that my parents used them for a small stone landing and some stone retaining walls around their trees and garden beds, and also had a wonderful experience. "Fast working, good quality, and easy to work with was our experience, the brickwork they did to fill in an old doorway was seamless - we could not have asked for better quality than what his crew did. "Went very well. Complete in 2 full days with a 2-person crew. They paid particular attention to aesthetics afterward which I appreciated. Most positive part was, they finished the day before a torrential rain storm which washed away much of the disturbed soil (where the drainage pipe was buried) as well as mulch and some river stones. I informed them and, without my realizing, they returned to my property, cleaned everything up and left quietly. When you do jobs like this, things can go wrong (including the uncontrollable, like inclement weather). What I appreciated was how responsive they were and how they ultimately made it clear that they wanted to do a good job for their customer. Lily, the project manager was great. The crew did a good job. The price was at par with other places but I'll take that + great communication and responsiveness any day. I've already referred them to 3 others in my neighborhood and I will definitely use again."

My finished project is a retaining wall (3 feet tall by 40 feet wide) and a patio (12x24 feet) with beautiful pavers on both. The landscaping around the wall and patio was just what I wanted with river rock and plants. He transplanted the young trees that I wanted to keep and helped me pick out plants for the rest of the project. I had not imagined including lighting, but Elijah suggested it, and the lighting is beautiful. I also had a walkway installed that matches the paver patio style.
