"Screenmobile was great to work with. They were quick to respond, friendly and professional. Quickly re-screened a patio door and repaired several window screen hooks. So glad this service exists!"

"While moving a boxspring we broke one of the panes in the window on the landing of our steps. Being the window was over 30 years old, it made sense to see about having it replaced with a new window. We got a recommendation from a neighbor for Pittsburgh Window and Door. The sales guy came out about 10 days after we called and took some measurements and gave us an estimate. Because it was just the one window, we were happy with the price and didn't feel like shopping around. Got the process stared and the window was ordered and got a call a few weeks later to set up a time to have it installed. The two guys arrived right on time and had the old window out and the new one in in about 35 minutes and were on their way. As we have the rest of our windows in need of being replaced in the new few years, we'll be sure to call them when the time comes to have that work done"

"Called to schedule an appointment and was told someone would get back to me, 5 days later I called again.  Someone would have to get back to me again to schedule.  This time they did return call however, the appointment would have to be before 3 M-F and nothing was available till10 days later on a Friday.  Did not schedule.  If it is this hard to get an appointment for an estimate then I do not want to have to deal with an installation. <br />"

"We are new homeowners and were looking for a contractor to do a complete overhaul of our two 50's style bathrooms (floors, tile, shower door, tub, fans, lighting, toilet, vanity, plumbing, etc). When I met David it was obvious that he is knowledgeable and takes a lot of pride in his work Even during the initial meeting he chatted about different ideas for our space and gave explanations (in layman's terms) as to how he would handle the various aspects of the job. As someone who is not very handy around the house it was helpful and reassuring to hear about the process that he would be undertaking to redo our bathrooms. David's work proved to be true to my initial impression. He kept us in the loop with his progress and guided us through choosing everything from ceiling fans to tiles. He was always ready with helpful design tips and kept an eye out for products we might like while at the store. He kept our budget in mind throughout the whole process by providing input on the areas he thought we could save or what materials were truly worth buying at a higher quality. David was very responsive to texts, phone calls, and emails. Before he even started work on our bathrooms I called him from Home Depot while overwhelmed trying to figure out what I should be looking at or considering. He quickly returned my call and talked me through ceramic vs porcelain tiles and different product brands among other items (he even offered to swing by if needed). David's hard work and attention to detail have resulted in two gorgeous new bathroom's. We will be keeping David in mind in the future as other home projects come up! Thank you David!"

"Kenny was absolutely perfect. A+ Great communication and arrived exactly on time. He and his crew were extremely professional, competent and service levels that are rare to see these days. They installed 19 sashes and when there was a problem with the order (not their fault, they weren't involved with the order) , Kenny took the initiative to resolve it with Andersen for us. I would recommend Clearview to everyone and plan to do so when anyone asks me about windows."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Allison Park, PA

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
