"Arnold and his team are a pleasure to work with. They are responsive, thorough and detail oriented. They work quickly, cleanly and quietly. We have hired Arnold for years to help with various projects. Most recently, we had a roof leak, which he identified and sealed. He replaced the drywall and repainted the room. Arnold can tackle any project, large or small. He is a gem!"

"Doc was very helpful on the phone, and came by to give an estimate promptly. He was also much more immediately responsive than others I contacted, some of whom never called back or called back 1-2 weeks later.
He described what needed to happen to replace the shower pan, and provided price options for either installing a new fiberglass pan or doing the whole pan area in custom tile. He was also clear up front that he had to cut through the bottom part of the wall tile to do this work, and that there was a chance it could not be salvaged.
When he found that there was just sheetrock under the wall tile, he told us it had to go regardless?and I am thankful we discovered that when we did, before it caused tons of water damage. Doc then re-quoted the job to include the full tile work.
Doc was friendly, communicated well about the project, and did great work. He does take a bit of time to complete a project (he doesn't rush, which is probably better for quality!), but you're never left hanging about when he's coming back. I would definitely hire him again.

"Computer did the "gotta send info to Microsoft" but when tried to reboot it ran through automatic repair without success. I did all the alternative without any success. He came and picked up the hard drive on Tuesday and returned it on Saturday. Fortunately he was able to "restore" without any data loss. Very happy with outcome."

"Awesome. Very professional and customer friendly quick turnaround on getting my phone back. When pricing parts and labor he took the extra time to see if it could be done cheaper by Samsung. I would recommend him to anyone . Small company heading in the right direction for big things."

"They really are not that good because the work they did started to deteriorate quickly after they did it. They came back and resolved the problem but they also did additional work; they really are not the best painters. The price was very reasonable and they also did some exterior painting for me as well. The interior painting was not as professional as I thought it could have been but they were quick to respond to my needs. They were punctual."

"PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS, KNOWLEDGEABLE, PUNCTUAL, RELIABLE and HUMBLE indeed - some of the ways I can with confidence describe Hector and his work. As a DIYer, in the middle of a seemingly routine shower maintenance project, I came up against a potentially disastrous outcome due to my inexperience in dealing with plumbing. So, on a late Friday night I was searching websites looking for help and contacted Alpha & Omega Home Remodeling. The following early Saturday morning Hector from Alpha & Omega Home Remodeling communicated with me in text and voice. He inquired about seeing few photos of spaces where plumbing failure had occurred (that alone indicated to me that Hector was willing to listen). Other plumbers that I've approached before I found Hector weren't interested in photos - I felt they would rather earn the so-called "dispatch fee" first (they charge you for coming out to your location regardless) and only then attempt to focus on the problem itself. I the end I was very pleased by Hector's integrity. He promptly came out to my house, took off his shoes at the entrance, wearing face mask while in my house, answered all questions that came up during my DIY attempt and certainly fixed the issue with some grace I must add (at a very reasonable price). I will certainly be doing more business with Hector from Alpha & Omega Home Remodeling."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Philadelphia, PA

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
