Customers say: Quick response

"Andre is a gem of a find as it goes with contractors these days. He does what he says he is going to do, shows up, and is a great problem solver! I hired him for multiple jobs on our total remodel: extensive drywall repairs including ceiling, range fan hood installation, kitchen faucet and plumbing conversion for single sink to double, bathroom and full length closet slider new door installs, minor relocation of our range outlet and deck powerwashing. All these jobs were done very well and any bumps in the road were tackled with the kind of creativity you can only get from a deep base of knowledge and experience. One of his most admirable traits is his persistence; he just doesn't let a project get the best of him. He was always willing to share knowledge, which was invaluable for me as a first time "general contractor". We will most definitely be asking him over to our new house if we have the need!"

"Daniel did an outstanding job for us. He mounted two TVs and completed cord concealment/management for three—everything looks flawless, clean, and professionally done. He also installed our Ring doorbell with ease. We recently had someone else do a TV mount and instantly wished we had reached out to Daniel first. The difference in quality, care, and communication was night and day. He was incredibly responsive, detail-oriented, thoughtful, and left the space cleaner than he found it. On top of that, his pricing was very fair for the level of work he delivers. We will 100% be calling Daniel for any future projects—he’ll be our first choice every time. If you want affordable, high-quality work from someone who takes pride in what they do, Daniel is the one to hire. Highly recommend!"

"We called multiple companies to repair our Sliding Patio door as it was worn and extremely hard to open or close. One company quoted us $9k to replace it and it would take 3 months until they could do it. I called around other places and none got back to me. Town and Country came out within a few days, told us that they could repair it, and could be back to fix it in less than a week. They came out, fixed it, stuck to the quote and it actually works better then when it was new. i would recommend them to anyone!"

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

"Terry built us a corner unit to house our tv and electronic components that was in keeping with our craftsman home. His input was welcomed and his attention to detail was great! We knew with the drawings ahead of time what to anticipate and his collaboration was easy and fun! He built us a series of shelves and cupboards that angle underneath our stairs as a first project which was massive but he crafted and installed it seemlessly. He's our go to guy for projects big or small indeed!"

"Tammy came out and did exactly what we needed on the cabinet doors, and was honest about the limitations of what could be done. She even went an extra mile to try and find better screws for the hinges. I was never happy with the service. I would recommend in the future that you mention, to businesses at least, that you prefer payment upon completion of the work. It is not always easy to get that accomplished in a business setting, so a little advanced warning would help."

"Meadowlark did an excellent job of painting the whole of the outside of our house and also repairing and painting our deck and pergola. They always arrived in time and if they were going to be late for any reason they would let us know. Their pricing is very reasonable and we will not hesitate to use them again when there is more work to be done."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Portland, OR

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
