"We cannot say enough about Mr Lopez himself, and his quality of work. He is kind and considerate, replies quickly to phone calls and text and goes above and beyond what others do. He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable. We had him repair and get 2 windows ready for install at a later date. The windows were clear glass, diamond shape solder windows from my parents house, making them sentimental. They had several broken panes, they were originally exterior windows for their house built in 1967. Mr Lopez and his crew have them looking like new and ready to install in a new home. They look amazing! He kept us informed along the way and called when questions arose. He also cleaned up and repaired a very old square window, replacing broken panes and prepping it for us to use as an interior window. This one also looks amazing! I cannot say enough good things about Mr Lopez, his work ethic and quality of work are unmatched. He takes great pride and care in his craftsmanship. Before and After Photos"

"Doug responded expeditiously to my request for window insect screen replacement. His work is excellent and reflects his attention to detail. The cost to replace my kitchen window screen was reasonable. I will definitely contact Doug for future window screen work."

"Shortly after contacting them on Angieâ s List, Nelson contacted me and actually came over on a Sunday to look at numerous issues I wanted corrected. He gave me a very reasonable quote. From fixing cracked drywall, to repairing the back door, installing gutters, painting, repairing cracked kitchen and bathtub tiles, he did an amazing job. What should have taken three days was done in two. afterwards, he gave me quotes to paint the exterior and interior of my home, installing a cement slab in the back as well as building a custom pergola which will occur in the next three months. He has impeccable integrity and is extremely honest."

Customers say: Quick response

"My project was a rehab of my large screened porch. Involved replacing the screen and trim, and most importantly replacing/repairing some of the framing. Eric s workmanship is excellent and the porch is better now than when it was new. The trim work in particular is very well done. I highly recommend this business. Excellent value for the work."

"Great! The shades are good quality and they were very responsive! I love the shades, but when I didn't like the way they looked at the top without a cartridge or valance, Kim helped me figure out the best solution for the problem. They installed metal fascia for us and it looks great!"

"Todd helped us when our drywall contractor failed to show up for work. His quote was extremely competitive and we began the repairs. We went from not having exterior walls during the coldest days of December (including snow days) to having the demo and drywall hung, taped, and mudded in one day. The next day our window casings and baseboards went in, and the walls were textured and painted. As they workers did the job, they cleaned up. Every day they made sure the area was cleaner than when they arrived. We had front posts and rails that were ancient and falling apart, so he ordered the cedar posts and made brand new rails. Putting those in took a day and the next they finished painting and cleaned up. We are thrilled! We have indoor pets (our fuzzy children) and we put them up while the work was taking place. One wouldn’t let us catch her. So she hid while they worked. The workers were aware that she never goes outside and they were very careful to make sure the doors were not left open. They watched out for her and made sure she was always safe. We HIGHLY recommend All American Glass & Construction! We have a kitchen and bathroom remodel in our future and we’ll be calling Todd for those jobs. We’ll also call him when we are ready to replace our windows. Give him a call! You’ll be glad you did!"

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Alvin, TX

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
