"From start to finish Kurt provided outstanding service.  All aspects of the project were completed in an extremely professional manner. The results were impressive and we continue to be very pleased with our patio and the asthetic improvement of our property.
  From the initial contact with Kurt, he impressed us. He went out of his way to accomodate our schedule and offered to come at 6 a.m. to perform the initial estimate so as not to interfere with my work. He was prompt in providing the estimate and answering questions we had. He politely offered outstanding suggestions to improve our design which we very happily implemented. 
  When it came time to schedule the work he cautioned us that the date was tentative based on his current workload and the weather. We appreciated that because we had experience in the past with contractors committing to a date then missing it. As things firmed up he set the start date and his crew showed up on time as promised. 
  His crew worked hard and it was very obvious they took pride in their work. The project took four and one-half days, at the end of each day they left the site in reasonably clean condition. Kurt periodically stopped in to check on the progress and provide any guidance necessary. 
  One of the most impressive things to us was that his crew took the initiative to do things that we didn't specifically discuss but were the right thing to do both from a construction standpoint and an asthetic point of view. Here are two examples: Our land sits slightly below our neighbors and there is a fence separating the properties. Kurt's crew placed a piece of wood under the fence to prevent any "downwash" on to our new patio. We didn't think to ask them to do it, but it certainly needed to be done and they made sure they did it right. The other example is the asthetics. In one corner of our patio sit two air handling units. In our design we simply stopped the patio at these units. The Distinct Landscapes crew placed a small border around the air units to give the patio a proper finished edge and added riverstone to give the area under the air units a landscaped look. Here again, their actions were above and beyond and added to the beauty of our patio.
  In addition to the patio design and construction, we asked Kurt to landscape our side yard. Being relatively new construction, the side yard was nothing more than grass. We worked with Kurt to design the space and identify deer and rabbit proof plantings. He endured our many questions and offered excellent suggestions and options. The plantings that were provided were of high quality and perfect for the garden. But his efforts didn't stop there. We sought to replace several other plantings, address a common area tree illness, and determine planters for the patio. Above and beyond, he provided information on possible planting replacements, treatment for the sick tree, and numerous links to sites that had patio planters. Way above what he was contracted to do. 
  In summary, Kurt and his crew provided exceptional customer service, high quality design and installation, timely delivery....all at an affordable price. We highly recommend Distinct Landscapes Inc. for both hardscape and landscape design, construction and installation services.

"We bought a house that had a severely damaged chimney that looked as if it would fall over and bust through our roof after a modest gust of wind.  A&T came out and did a quick estimate for us which was quite a bit cheaper than other companies and they also did not try to up-sell us to do additional work (replacing flue, etc) using scare tactics.  We quickly scheduled them to come out a week after the estimate in order to do the work.  They probably would have come out even sooner but we waited to get a final quote from another company.  
They arrived promptly at their window and did all the work with neither my wife or I required to be home (a huge huge plus).  They estimated that the work may take up to a day and a half, but finished in half of a day.  After completion of the job they emailed me some photos of the chimney so that I could see what they had done up close without having to get up on a 40 foot ladder.
I would give them A's all around just for what I described, but they went above and beyond.  Because they had some left over materials, they patched up some cracking that they saw on my roof while they were up there  I actually think that this even fixed a small leak in our sun room that I was going to have someone else come out and look out.  Amazing job - would absolutely hire again.

"Mike was awesome from the start. He showed up on time to discuss the work we needed for both the front and back yard. During this visit, he drew up a new design for the front yard and provided a written estimate for all work. My husband and I decided to go with work only for the front yard to save a bit of money right now, but overall we did feel that Mike's estimate was a fair price. We would hire him again to do the work for the back yard - no question.
As noted above, Mike and his crew completely overhauled our front yard, fixing drainage and grading issues that we had had for years, but were exacerbated by a recent large tree removal earlier this year. Mike needed to bring in a stump remover for more than half a day to complete the work that the tree removal service left behind - no extra charge.
After two days, we had a brand new front yard, complete with fresh new sod and new landscaping. It looks great! We are so pleased with the work. The crew cleaned up after themselves, and Mike has been available to answer any follow-on questions we've had since then, about care, etc.

They are very busy so we have a three-week wait after we signed the contract and when the work was scheduled to begin. Gerry, the owner is at the site everyday. "Dan's team was professional and quick.  Dan responded immediately to my query for a quote, negotiated fairly and completed the work as promised and on time.  I was impressed with the speed and professionalism of this contractor.
Also, for a different price point, his guys trenched a bamboo planting area and installed a bamboo barrier to contain it for the future.  This was really hard work and the guys put in the extra effort to get the job done and install the barrier properly.
