"Lawrence came out on a Saturday to fix the lock on our iron gate before we left for vacation. As we suspected, the lock was shot but Lawrence was able to replace it with newer version of the exact same Yale lock! Lawrence was extremely knowledgable regarding DC codes and explained that if we rented our house, we could call back and have the lock portion replaced with a handle! Great job! Would absolutely call them again!"

"Everything went great! Lindsay called promptly after I purchased a deal on here. Once the work was scheduled Joel came out to do the work. He was on time and showed me tons of issues with what needed to be repaired. He gave me detailed information on why it cracked and let me know that it would happen again if not done correctly. He gave me a quote for a new stone walkway and porch that was more than fair having known several people to have the same work done with other companies. I plan on taking them up on the work in the future for sure just coudln't swing it after the holidays. Both Lindsay and Joel provided everyhing I hoped for given the companies great reputation.

"Beitzell did a great job for us.  The estimator was punctual and professional, and the price was $1600 less than the highest of four bids we received - for better quality construction than offered by the highest bidder.  Our lot is not flat, so the fence had to run up and down hills and was very much a custom job - no pre-built panels.  The work was done in one day, the crew was neat and hard-working, and the quality of the fence fully met our expectations.  We paid half up front, and the rest after the fence was completed.  I would use Beitzell again without hesitation - absolutely nothing not to like.

"Our original contractor dropped off of the Facebook of the Earth, leaving us with mostly finished renovation and the new deck I started. I found 5thGen on Thumbtack and Christian was the most responsive and knowledgeable of the respondents to my search for fencing contractors. His team built me a gorgeous fenced-in urban oasis and the double lattice was his idea and custome made for our space. I’m attaching photos. He and his team then proceeded to repair our previous contractor’s errors (like installing new kitchen cabinets upside-down... really!) and did amaze my custome drywall work and mounding work. They even moved our challenger and you would never know the base had been relocated looking at the ceiling. Great great job, reliable and responsive on multiple projects for us since. Our relationship with 5thGen started at the end of 2015 and continues to date."

"I was referred to Mr. Simms from a friend. Mr Simms did a great job on the rear gate. There were a few issues with timing, and the start of the work time. Mr. Simms is a one man shop so I can understand he is busy, but there should have been a bit further communication. Nevertheless, he did return my calls promptly. The quality the the rear gate, and the price were fantastic. He took his time and did it right. Based on this, I decided to let him bid on a fence that I wanted built in the front of my house. The price was significantly higher than the work for the rear gate. The end product does look nice, and to be clear these are custome built fences that Mr. Simms fabricates. But there were a few times that I had to step in to prevent corners being cut. Also, Mr. Simms did not have a generator for his welder, and I had to give him a power cord and he used my electricity. My bill this past month was $100 above what it is normally, and his welder also flipped a circuit in my house which was an inconvenience. 

Overall, Mr. Simms is a skilled welder that does have a good eye. I would use him again if the scope of the work was completely defined."

"Thomas and his crew were great to work with throughout the process. Thomas put careful thought into our moisture problem, and offered a few possible solutions. His estimated costs were all considerably lower than another highly rated company on Angie's List. As we were trying to decide exactly what to do, Thomas patiently answered all of our questions. Also, there were several times when he advised us against pursuing options that would have been more expensive. His honesty extended to scheduling of the work. There were several periods where his crew could not come in for sometime (due to other jobs or cold weather), and he was always up front about it. Thomas also was nondefensive when I raised concerns. For example, some reviews on AL suggested that Gingko Gardens was not always good about communicating, disappearing for periods of time in the middle of a job. I let him know up front that I was concerned about this happening if I hired them, and he acknowledged those reviews and promised he would stay in touch with me throughout the job (which he did). Finally, I cannot say enough good things about the crew of men who cut and set our patio stone (travertine). They did beautiful work, and were very punctual, respectful, and pleasant.
