"We shopped and spoke with many "facade restoration experts" before choosing to work with High Tech and we are so glad we did our research. Shaiful was by far the most knowledgeable contractor we spoke with and made us feel confident that he was capable of solving our issues.  When it was clear that there was no saving our original cornice, he offered up more than one suitable way forward. We decide to let his crew re-create the original piece from stone. The work they did left us with a beautiful and artistic facade the functions well in collecting rain water from the roof. The crew was respectful, clean and on time. They went above and beyond all of our expectations in touching up every minor detail so that the whole front of the house was left looking brand new. We could not be happier. Our home looks better than we could have imagined. I recommend High Tech Construction with no hesitation.

"Wonderful experience! He was always professional and very pleasant. He fixed, repaired, installed and improved so many things in my house that had been waiting for years for someone like him. My house is an antique school house with plenty of quirks, but Harold was never a nay-sayer like so many handymen. He respected the homeowner's ideas, and knew how to make things work. He did everything with a smile and never stressed. I will always appreciate the improvements, and will hire Harold whenever I need cosmetic or remodeling work."

"I renewed my memership with Angie's List and looked for chimney repairers I needed one near Jamstown, Ny.
I called Exteriors by Maria and talked to a Mr. Robert Russo he happened to be doing a chimney job that same day only a few miles from my house. He said, he could stop by after his job and look at the chimney it was the same thing as the job he was just on...
Mr. Robert Russo fixed my chimney with  fiberglass stucco the next day.
It took him and his crew only four hours to put the fiberglass stucco on from top to bottom on my chimney..
He said when I get home from work  the chimney will be done he delivered on his promise....
The cost  was $1000 it was much better than having the chimney completely ripped up and replaced for probably $7000 and up.
The fierglass stucco hardened after 48 hours and my chimney looks better than it ever did....
He had a booklet  showing other jobs he had done from floor tiles, roofing, gutter drains, windows replacements his crew are the complete package for housing needs from the roof to the foundation....
I will call him for other household repairs down the road....
He works all over  from Buffalo,NY,Ohio and Jamestown NY and other places...
Thank you ....Mr.Robert Russo from Exteriors by MariaRepair chimney....

"My wife and I were happy to find M. Pottenburgh Construction through HomeAdvisor. Matt responded quickly with a site visit, estimate, and scheduling the job to fix ice dam damage on our roof. Matt and his crew were polite, efficient, and very hard workers. I will have no hesitation recommending Matt to others and hiring him for other work."

"Centerline has outstanding workmanship. They are the best, hands down. The next time I buy a house, I will not solicit other estimates. I considered a number of houses before deciding to purchase my current home. Shawn and Chuck met with me at every property and advised me on the sorts of updates each would require and what the costs would be. This was SO helpful. I finally bought a 3-bed house with two inadequate bathrooms, about 2,000 square feet overall, in Lakeville, CT, in fall 2017. Centerline outlined the work by priority, brought code violations to my attention, and shared their good advice on where my renovation / updating budget would be best spent. Centerline did both big and small projects, upgraded electrical, fixed wonky plumbing, re-roofed the whole house, and renovated both bathrooms. Centerline even matched a low-ball quote I had gotten from a local painter to patch and paint the entire interior. Centerline does exquisite work! The walls were in such bad shape. I ended up with a $25K interior plaster skim coat and gorgeous paint finish that cost me a mere $7K. The Centerline crew fixed every nail pop, smoothed every bad bit of drywall! The walls are perfect and whole house looks and feels 1,000-percent better. The house had two existing bathrooms, but neither had a bathtub. Chuck ingeniously found a way to carve out a niche in the first-level powder room to add a bathtub (preserving the existing tile floor, no less!) and voilà, I now have a full bath that is accessible for anyone in the public areas (kitchen or living room) while it also functions as an ensuite for the master bedroom. The second floor has a balcony overlooking the large living room below. The railing here was not up to code when I purchased the house. Because the railing was so visible, Chuck and Shawn helped me see how replacing it could be a design opportunity (in addition to meeting code!) The new railing inspired us to change all the door hardware to match, and now the house really pops! EVERYTHING is fresh and new and appropriately coordinated. When Shawn suggested to me that the second-floor bath (with 30-year-old ripped brown vinyl flooring) would look tired and dated once all the other work in the house was done, and that I should consider a cosmetic re-do of this room, I balked. I did not think I could afford it, but she suggested a number of great cost-saving methods to stretch my budget. The room is fabulous and the cost was minimal! Centerline replaced a code violating sink and vanity with a stylish gray vanity and sink, added a new faucet, new toilet, a code-required GFI switch, new vanity lights, and new luxury vinyl flooring (goodbye brown vinyl!) to complement the existing floors in the house. The crew also re-grouted the hand-molded tile in the shower stall, which made it look brand new! Every fixture and feature of this room (which also benefited from the new paint job!) was upgraded at a fraction of t"

FAQs for interior trim and decorative moldings installation projects in Ancram, NY

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
