"We moved into our new construction home in 2007. On June 30, 2018 there was torrential rain in the Des Moines metro, causing a lot of local flooding and flooded basements. This was the first of 3 occasions that summer when a small amount water worked its way up through a concrete seam in our basement floor. We contacted several local wet basement outfits to see what could be done to correct the problem. The general consensus from the majority of them was that we had more of a landscaping problem than a wet basement problem. One outfit even went as far as to say, "Take care of your landscaping and if that doesn't correct the problem, than call me". After a lot of research into Des Moines area landscapers, we chose Friend Landscaping for this project. They built up the grade around our house, installed underground gutters, built two small retaining walls and installed a French drain across the back of the house; all to force rain water away from the foundation of the house. In addition, they replaced all of the old landscaping with a clean, attractive layout and long-lasting materials. We've had several heavy downpours since the work was done in September 2018 and it is clear that the landscaping is working as designed and the water issue in our basement has not reoccurred. We highly recommend Friend Landscaping for anyone who has drainage issues around their house and would definitely hire him for future jobs. Bill kept us informed of the project time-line; and he and his crew always kept the jobsite clean and safe while the work was in progress."

"Richard was not too busy with large landscaping projects to come and see what I needed to have done. In two hours he and his team removed all the old weedy , dirty landscape rocks, bushes, and volunteer trees, He graded off the area and laid down beautiful new green sod. Also, I was impressed that he was acting as a professional; his fiancée answered my call within a 2 or 3 rings; when I explained what I wanted to have done, she took down my information and phone number. She said Richard would get back to me, and he did by phone and later by visit. I was so tired of leaving voicemails or messages online at other landscapers websites, and never hearing anything from them. Iâ m sure Richard is happy his fiancée picked up the call, as I am too. None of the Marshall County landscapers had time for a little project like mine, and couldnâ t be bothered to call or text me to say â noâ to my request. It took Richard in Collins in Story county to act like a true professional! The job was done a couple months later when the weather cooled and became fall- like. We have been watering the sod and it looks beautiful!"

Jett and Emily are absolutely FANTASTIC to work with. We recently hired them to landscape a sloped area where we were battling erosion near our foundation. Not only did they listen to our concerns, they offered advice that would work best for our foundation, burning bushes, lawn, and budget. We had a contract that evening and materials delivered two days later. Jett and Emily were kind, respectful, honest people who worked meticulously with an eye for details others might ignore. I can't think of the last time I saw such hardworking people, and we will DEFINITELY hire them again for other projects. Check out their list of services--they do so much more than landscaping.
