"I had to come out and look at my driveway. Ended up having him look at a water issue in my basement and they made a good recommendation and I’m gonna have them fix my basement into the driveway."

"Things went very well. The four-person crew was prompt, professional and and efficient. The foreman described what was going to happen and how. The concrete walkway, front step and driveway sections that had settled over time were gently lifted and leveled using a polymer foam. After the work, all of the driveway section seams were level and smooth. Very few traces of the work were left behind. We would highly recommend Badger Basement Systems."

"The estimate process was pretty quick. We had them over and talked about our remodel ideas for the upstairs. The insulation was key because we were having ice dams and water problems in the winter. Duerst came up with several options - spray foam, blown-in insulation, a combination of the options. We decided to go with spray foam insulation. At the time, we were able to schedule the work about 3 weeks out which worked out perfectly for us. They said it was going to be a 1 full day job. It turned out to be 3 days, which was quite inconvenient. The first day didn't get started quite as quickly as hoped because it wasn't communicated that we had carpeting that needed to be protected. So the installer spent all morning plastic-wrapping everything (which was really appreciated). He was able to get started applying the insulation in the afternoon for a few hours. The second day started out alright - except another job site was having problems with their spray foam equipment (it was cold this week in November and the equipment is touchy) so they needed to use the one that our guy was using at our house. He finished up early at our house and had to go to the other job site. The guy who was working on our house was really professional and knowledgeable. Seemed like he was one of their top guys. The third day was spent doing some finishing touches and then scraping off the foam to be even with the studs and roof trusses. Duerst sent two more guys to help finish up the job. They did finish the job and vacuumed up as best they could. Spray foam is messy messy! You get little beads of spray foam all over the place - stuck to your shoes, carpeting, pants, and then track it all over your house if you're not careful. We had to vacuum multiple times each day. Duerst gave us a discount for paying in cash, and then another discount because of the inconvenience of the timing (took longer than expected). That was appreciated. They also did a blower-door test and submitted the paperwork for the Wisconsin Focus on Energy incentives so I didn't have to do anything but wait for the check (which took about 6 weeks to receive). They also pointed out the federal tax credit amount that would reduce the overall cost of the project. I would use this company again. It was a good experience.

Edited Jan 2013: Once we had our drywall contractor come in, it turns out Duerst did a bad job on scraping away the spray foam enough for the drywall to be hung flat/straight/against studs. The drywall contractor had to spend half a day scraping away spray foam. In the future, I will be more diligent about checking for that if I use Duerst again. If less time had passed between the insulation work and the drywall work, I would have contacted Duerst about my unhappiness at their scraping job and asked for some sort of reparations (either money or have them come back to scrape). But as it has been two years, I did not contact them and chalked it up to a learning experience."

"To Expert House Movers
We wanted to let you know just how pleased we are with the work you did on our house. Before we contacted you, we had several other contractors look at our home. We actually had hired another contractor, who took such a long time, never returned our calls, missed meetings, and took months to even get us our bid. And when that contractor did get us our bid, it was more than doubled our previously discussed budget!
That is when we called you, you came out immediately, was extremely professional, but more importantly, you had a personal interaction with both me and my wife throughout the entire process. You answered all our phone calls, all of our questions, and talked with us throughout the entire process. We felt extremely confident and assured through the entire lift. This house is our dream house and we are going to live in it until we die, and you knew how much it meant to us, and you took care of it as if it were your own.
As you know, my wife ended up in the hospital with some complications with her surgery while you were working on our home, and you took such great care of our house. You knew she was very disappointed that she could not be there, as she designed the foundation window placements and had a big part in the doors and steps. Your crew was so kind and so professional and meticulous, that they knew that two particular windows were very important to my wife. Your crew wanted to get them perfect and asked me some questions about them, that I could not answer. My wife was feeling better, but still in the hospital, and I called her on the phone, while your crew waited for me, as she and I discussed for several minutes the exact placement of the windows. Some minor changes had to be made and your crew could have easily just slapped the two windows in the new location, which was only slightly off of the original plan, and be done with it, but they stopped and pointed out where my wife originally wanted them and the new location difference and wanted to be sure that my wife understood the change, and wanted me to talk to my wife first. I was so very impressed that they made the adjustments on the spot that my wife suggested over the phone. I don’t think any other company would have gone through this much trouble to please their customers!
You also were very respectful of our property, neighbors, and your crew were always very willing to stop and explain the process of what was going to happen next. Not one time did we ever feel like we were in your way. Actually, it was the opposite, we felt like you and your crew were very excited to show us your equipment and how it worked and actually wanted us around so we could see how it all worked and so we could see for ourselves how everything was perfect - and it was!
We will always remember you and think of you so highly. Thank you for making the beginning our home building so easy and off to such a perfect start. There are so many things that can go wrong when redoing a home, and having it go off with such a perfect start gives us such great hope. You have certainly set bar very high for the other contractors that will be coming in for the other parts of the home! Your company and its crew should be very proud of its work. You do a job that is very difficult, complex and tedious, but you do it with care, expertise, and perfection. We actually miss you guys and wish you were around. You are like family to us. We only wish we could rate your service and staff A++ , if there were such a rating.
All our best and blessings,
Randy and Elizabeth
"

FAQs for concrete injection leveling mudjacking projects in Antigo, WI

Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. This material distinction enhances load-bearing strength and overall stability in your repair.

Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.

No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
