They cleaned out, caulked, and reangled our existing gutters prior to installing the gutter guards. "I sent a message via Angieslist to GF Company asking if they intalled steel roofing or siding. The next day I received this reply. "Thank you for your interest in GF Company. Please feel free to contact our offices at 815-547-0159 to schedule a free estimate. " Now, I could have called them instead of sending a message. I know that. They didn't have to tell me that. But It would have been nice if they had answered my question. A simple yes or no would have sufficed. So I sent my request again making it clear that this was my second request. Two days later I got this. "In response to your questions, we install skylights, steel siding, and steel roofing. If you are still interested in a free estimate, please feel free to contact our offices at 815-547-0159. Thank you." So, was that so hard? I'm not impressed and not inclined to call them. First impressions matter!"

"The good:
They were polite, neat, and pretty fast in getting to our home for service.
They did the demo and got the dryers going promptly, which probably saved the carpeting - half of the carpet pad was shot and removed. I thought the price had included getting the new padding and reinstalling it after the stuff was dry. The area was pretty small & I didn't think it was going to be a major $ matter to get the carpet reinstalled after the dry - out.
I chose not to go through my homeowner's policy, as I have a high deductible and this was a fairly small job.
The not so good:
Although I appreciate their getting the work done, I feel a little misled. They did do demolition and drying out from flooding, but, they told me later, they do not do reinstallation of anything. There was a delay on their part to pick up the dryers, so, I think we ended up paying extra rental fees for lots of dryers that were running for quite a few extra days. They had said they would pick them up on a Thursday, but, they couldnt get here until Monday of the next week.  I got other contractors to quote the drywall, painting and carpet work. Strangely, when they came to pick up the dryers, they offered to do the rebuild work the next day - for an additional fee that was never quoted. It was all kind of awkward. When I told them that I thought their original quote had included replacing the carpet pad, I was told that that was a conversation I had with their boss, not them. I never met their boss, just talked to him on the phone. It was sort of like I was dealing with two different companies. 
Anyway, it did all get squared away, but, when I calculated the hours of time spent on the work, the effective hourly rate was pretty high. I would just warn any others to make clear what is, and is not, included in the quoted work. I have no issues with the work that was done, and, I think they were very professional and careful.

"We've used Mayotte Investments a few times and will most definitely will be "THE FIRST" company we contact or suggest with remodel or building needs. They do the job right even if the right way is harder, but better results. Honest hard working group."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"From start to finish the entire crew led by Brian were amazing!  They were prompt and worked all day and cleaned up after themselves.  They took the time to educate us on what was being done.  I loved their friendly attitude and could not be happier.  Brian even replaced my old bird feeder and put up a bird house for me even though it was not in the contract!  Now talk about Midwest hospitality.  I would highly recommend Hip and Ridge Construction for any future projects!  Todd kept every promise and then some!  We live in Los Angeles and have our vacation home is located up in North Western Wisconsin.  I was blown away with the service and how fast everything got done.  I also know they did an exceptional job because a visiting friend in the same business stated so!  Todd the owner even checked up on us several times just to make sure we were enjoying our vacation and if we needed anything at all!  Talk about A+ service!  They offered us financing and made the entire process easy! We were hesitant about hiring someone to replace our roof and Todd made the process a confident decision!  
I also loved how personable he and his crew were.  They are truly a top notch construction crew and I would also like to add I know a thing or two about customer service!  I have served in Law Enforcement for over 20 years now and I appreciate the honesty and transparency the entire staff provided.
