"All in all I will use them again. The process was a little bumpy at first -- i have never hired a carpentry company and was solely reliant on what i found here at AL. Basically it's 50 percent to start, and 50 percent upon completion. Lamar came out to figure the estimate which i got next day or so. I reviewed, accepted, returned a signed estimate, and it was a few weeks before I could get on the schedule. I asked front-desk Andrea about signing a contract and was told that for 'small' jobs they typically do not document a contract. I really suggest they come up with more comprehensive general terms of service agreement that they offer everyone, or that they print on their estimates, to cover both parties. Renovation was about 4 weeks to completion. After demo then I was not on the schedule for week, and we had Thanksgiving holidays, so work slowed for a week. During this time the rotted floor was fixed and the new framing was put up to house the tub. Meanwhile I asked for (and Casey put in) more 2x8s running perpendicularly to the floor joists to support the bigger tub. Plumbing was modified to fit the new tub. After thanksgiving, and particularly after December 1st, things started really clicking -- floor down, tub fixtures done, toilet and vanity reset (my originals, not new purchases), drywall done, and painting done in a matter of 3-4 days. Last thing was the ceramic tile, which took an afternoon. Casey's response time via text or call is excellent. The team members each stay his own lane. They clean up after themselves--daily. I bought the guys pizza and that day's crew was SO diligent about cleaning up their trash that there was no proof pizza had ever been delivered! It does take a while--longer than my naive self would have expected. Crew members were driving from Gallatin to Ashland City and understandably work at my house usually didnt start til 9 am. Your experience might be different if you're closer to Gallatin. Crew members also have same-day assignments in other towns too, so they have long days. As to access, we used a realtor's box so the construction members could let themselves in my house."

SBC wasnâ t the cheapest, but you get what you pay for, and we wanted someone whoâ d do a nice job. They did! I wish the crews wouldâ ve cleaned up after themselves more (trash; caulk on windows), but that seems to happen with every home project. Will hire SBC again for future house projects."

"So, I had hired a contractor that began building the fence but it became obvious that he didn't know what he was doing. It was bad enough that codes had received a complaint and needed the issues resolved within the next 4 days (this was on a Thursday, deadline was the upcoming Tuesday). Not only did they show up on a Sunday to begin working, they rebuilt the ENTIRE fence in two days and passed codes with flying colors. They were extremely professional and on time, everytime. "It went extremely well. We contacted John too late in the year to start construction before winter,s frost. John did come out and replace several broken deck steps and reinforced the deck support beams which had come loose so that we would be safe until he could replace the deck in the spring. He also spread out hay and straw to  keep the ground warm so we could start construction as soon as possible in the early spring. John started work April 8th and quickly demolished my old unsafe deck. By May 16th he had built us a beautiful composite deck twice as large as my old one. Along the way John had to deal with some unexpected problems such as buried power lines we were unaware of and a couple of last minute design changes we requested. John always responded quickly with a practical and cost effective solution. Our new deck and our custom benches are our pride and joy. My wife is handicapped and this new deck is her  new "living room".  She can enjoy the outdoors instead of being stuck indoors.  My wife and I cannot recommend John highly enough.  John is friendly, personable and  one of those rare individuals who actually listens and understands his client's concerns and as a result mistakes are avoided. John cared for my  house and property as if it was his own home.  We will not hesitate to call on John again for our construction/remodeling needs and welcome any of his prospective customers to come see our deck and hear how we hired a contractor and ended up with a new friend."
