"Overall experience was positive. The diagnosis was good and only required a $15 part that was able to install myself. My frig is working great. While my total cost for the repair was $80 which included the $35 diagnostic fee, the lowest other price quote was over $400. I am very pleased with this new type of appliance repair. I will be recommending this my family and friends."

Explained in detail options about what could be done, with no pressure whatsoever to use them for repairs. Extensive follow up with advise. Will certainly use them again for anything appliance-related."

"Terry arrived on time, was professional and sincere. Although my repair was expense, I think that is simply what things cost in repairing appliances. I would highly recommend Terry as well as call him again for any additional service I need."

Customers say: Quick response

"Matthew did a super job in replacing my ice maker. Excellent and very knowledgeable of replacement procedure. He had come to install a new built in oven and while there checked out the my icemaker which had not worked for somewhile. He immediately found the icemaker was broken and not repairable. I decided to have him placed an order for a new one which arrived and he promptly installed. The correct new icemaker arrived, which he installed, works great. Job well done! He will be called for any future appliance problems."

This is the second time that we have used Appliance Pro.  The first time was a couple of years ago to replace some parts on a new LG refrigerator that was still under warranty.  Jonathan G. was also the technician who did our refrigerator appliance repair, and I was generally impressed with his work so we called again when our microwave died.

Overall, the repair was flawless from start to finish.  For example, when removing the microwave from the cabinet, Jonathan asked us for a couple of old towels to lay on our hard wood floors to protect the finish.  It also didn't take him long to diagnose the problem and repair it.  Fortunately for us, the part we needed was on the truck, saving us time and aggravation waiting to get the correct part in later.

Appliance Pro is not cheap.  At this stage in my life, I would rather pay a little more for a job done right than to hire a repairman who may or may not know what he's doing. My only suggestion would be that Appliance Pro offer a discount on their labor charge for Angie's List members and/or return customers.

"After several visits, lots of time, and ordering special parts on his part, Sebastian was unable to fix the stove. We thought we would owe him around $700 (our estimate) for the work he had done. But since he was unable to make the repair, he said there was no charge. We were joyfully flabbergasted. I have rarely met anyone in this business with such integrity. Cheers to Appliance Zen for doing the right thing. (I had just lost my job so this was very welcome news.)

"Mike's quoted 3 systems; the multi-zone Mitsubishi hyper-heat system was about twice the cost of the Trane single-zone std. heatpump. The quote from a 2nd HVAC installer for a standard Carrier single-zone heatpump system was only $1000 less than Mike's Mitsubishi system. I wasn't originally considering the Mitsubishi because of the cost but the Carrier-system quote changed my mind. It took two days to complete. The installers were efficient, professional and amiable. They did a good job and took the time they needed to install the equipment correctly and make it look good. The condensor unit was delivered to Mike's with a dent; they gave me the option of a price break or getting another unit shipped next-day. The Mitsubishi system they installed operates much differently from the 13 year old standard-heatpump-system it replaces; before they left, the technician took the time to explain what to expect regarding the system's operation and encouraged me to contact Mike's if I had any questions or concerns."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Arden, NC

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
