"Our full view storm door needed the door handles replaced. We were unable to lock it. We put in a request thru Angi and Delmar Yellock of Designing Xpressions was the first contractor to respond. After discussion, he agreed to stop by the very next day. Upon arrival and after examining the door he found I had purchased the wrong parts. He fully explained what needed to be done and why it needed to be done. He visited a local store and purchased the correct parts. Despite spending twice as much time doing the repair he stuck with the original price quoted. I learned Del is actually a general contractor and does remodels and virtually any job inside the house. We will definitely be calling him back for future work. One last point: Del's price (including parts) was one sixth of prices quoted by others. This experiece almost makes me want to see something else need fixing! Great honest contractor!!!"

"I contacted JA drywall to work on some popcorn ceilings for me. Josh was very responsive and arrived on time to give me an estimate. To his credit, he did inform me that his estimate would probably be higher than other estimates I would receive. I decided to go with Josh because I felt he was honest, how he communicated with me and because he was available via telephone. Unlike other drywall contractors, who did not show up or were very flaky with the communication. Josh started the work on time and finished when he said he would be complete. Josh did a great job with my ceilings. The drywall was installed, taped, and sanded. I was very impressed with the work they did and I would absolutely hire him again. If you’re looking for drywall to be completed, Contact Josh and then call other companies and you’ll see the difference in communication. A+ in my book."

"A+! THIS IS HOW SERVICE CALLS SHOULD ALL GO! I was given a service window between 9:00 and 11:30 am. To my delight, Eyal, the technician from Aviv Appliances arrived at 9:25. After explaining the problem, he immediately diagnosed the problem of a clogged condensation drain line, showed me where the problem was, what was causing it. He fixed the problem and offered a simple remedy to prevent future occurrences and the need for a service call. Additionally, the dishwasher was leaking during operation, and I was worried that the seal or gasket had gone bad. The technician diagnosed the problem as a dirty spray head and that the way dishes were loaded blocked the spray rotation. He cleaned and reset the part, returned it to its place and showed what to look out for in the future. The technician also offered tips for routine maintenance to optimize performance and cleaning. I have dealt with a variety of technicians in the past, some even replaced parts unnecessarily and charged for the "extra" labor. All I was charged today was the $99 minimum service charge I was quoted over the phone when making the appointment. I will not need service on these appliances any time soon, but his honesty, professionalism and willingness to offer advice left no doubt in my mine who I am going to call next time for any appliance service. "Hector was great! He immediately texted me and gave me a very competitive price for the job. He set up an appointment in 2 days, showed up on time and did an amazing job. He even ran to home Depot because I didn't have all the hardware necessary. I would definitely recommend hiring this company for any handyman services you need. "Regarding the first job to replace the shower door rollers, David called me the night before to confirm what was needed and said he would call me the next morning when he was on his way. He arrived on time and immediately got to work. Because of the design of the shower door assembly, Dave had to remove both doors and since I had already purchased replacement roller wheels, I decided to replace all the roller wheels on both doors. The doors now work perfectly. The second time I called was to fix the casement window in my living room. The lock handle broke off with the window in the locked position. I spoke to Daniel McElreavey to set up an appointment and was told he doesn't do work in Philadelphia, but he had a handyman he works with and would relay my problem to him. He said he was meeting up with the handyman in about 1/2 hour that same day and told me to email him pictures of the window and lock, which I did. I never heard back from either Daniel or the handyman and that is why I gave such a low rating."

"There were a lot of issues initially and I contacted Angie’s List and you were able to help us resolve it. What happened was that I got the deal, I wanted my daughter to use it because the kind of windows that they were going to install weren’t appropriate for my house and I felt that my daughter can profit from that under the circumstances better than I could. So she took the deal and it was not so good initially because apartments were not kept but it turned out fine because they got the windows done and they were pleased with them. They honored the price for two windows. The problem was with scheduling and that sort of thing. The issue was not really honoring the commitment to come at a certain time or to get the work done by a certain time. They did a good job of installation once they did it. I only had one contact with them and I wasn’t happy with that because he wanted to do a complete inspection of the house and I was focused on the windows not so much so on insulation. So I knew that wasn’t good for me and I wasn’t happy with that interaction but here again, in all fairness my daughter was satisfied with the interaction that she had."

"New roof was installed with excellent craftsmanship by workers who seem to be proud of their work. Sales consultant and scheduler were communicative and abreast of the progress of the project. There was much attention to detail in installing the new shingles, and necessary unexpected repairs that were identified were done without delay. The workers are efficient and effective. The areas are gone over and left spotless with followup people coming by the next day to be sure all is in order."

"I called Wesley in April for an estimate  and he promply returned my call and came to the house.   His estimate was middle of the pack and we believe very fair.  We originally shot for a June date, but with all of the rain, they didn't start until July 14th and that week worked Monday - Saturday.  They returned the following week for a day or two to finish up.  His crew was here every day by 8AM and were vey professional, accommodating and skilled.  The house is large and all brick.  They painted all the window trim, soffits, front and back porches, shutters and end gables.  They power washed, repaired all of the rotted wood on shutters and porch pillars, primed and painted.  That I know of, Wesley himself was only here one day for a few minutes, but he touched base often and we were confident in the work that his crew did.  The house looks stunning and the work is near impeccable.
